He was actually one of CJ Iftikhar's lawyers when Musharraf started that crap with the judiciary. He is known to be an honest and a very level headed person. Being a lawyer, he has been skeptical of Imran making wild accusations without proof. Had Imran listened to Hamid instead of Tareen he would not have had to be embarrassed and apologize to CJ Iftikhar when he took the matter to court. There are also the land mafia folks such as aleem khan who dislike Hamid Khan and have tried very hard to sideline him in the PTI.

The JC outcome was predictable knowing that you have the status quo state machinery aligned against them to give a balanced verdict in the JC findings. IK played extreme politics with uncompromising stances and listening to the wrong people within his party. There were moments during the 4 month long protest that PTI had the advantage to negotiate a settlement in their favor and they refused to take any steps.

There is no denying that rigging took place with many irregularities in certain constituencies, but IK said many things which he could not back up when the time came and simply giving an analysis after this finding makes him look un-credible. No room for coulda/shoulda/woulda.

Now 2 years on without playing the role of an active opposition in the midst of the protest to pass bills for future electoral reforms with concrete legislation, PTI has lost that valuable time by not gaining anything. PTI has some major explaining to do to the public and other political parties if they decide now to go back to the assemblies.

PML-N has gotten a major breakthrough with this decision and going forward for the next 3 years will boost their voter base and also implementing of recent economic policies such as CPEC and cosmetic infrastructure developments will give added edge.

It remains to been seen how PTI will go forward from these recent developments and what kind of political or economic strategy it will pursue to salvage any political goodwill that may remain.

Only parliament can do that. But why will the lawmakers want to shoot themselves in the foot by going for a change that limits their potential for looting/money making? For the same reason not many are keen on LB polls either..
