So my hairstylist convinced me to get a Braziallian Blowout treatment for my frizzy hair. For $150, the treatment should last about 3-4 months if I shampoo 3-4 times a week. She said she was very pleased with results of other clients, and that I could choose not to re do it if I don’t like it.
If its Keratin treatment then it has Formaldehyde which is cancer causing & a big No NO for hair. I have a friend who got it done & had excessive hair fall .. like literally balls of hair every time she ran her hand through her hair.
No it's not the keratin...but after reading the article above, I was looking at the website and while the website claims they do not contain formaldehyde, the article says it does. Now I'm confused.
I think they are similar and do contain health hazards. I dropped the idea of getting it done based on the health issues and the excessive hair fall as well.
I got it done and I had no major problems with it. I loved it but this is before the FDA came out with the risks, why not get a keratin treatment done instead?
i don't know what to do with my frizzy hair..rebonding would make them limp and make me look bald..I can't afford to lose my already thinning hair ..all thanks to chemical straightening I did back in 2004 :(
I say go with a kertain treatment, when I got mine done it was before the FDA came out with all the risks so now I wouldn't do it. I would love to get a keratin treatment done tho.
I say dont go with Keratin, Brazilian or any protein treatment - If FDA doesnt approve it because of major health hazards and a million people complain of excessive hair fall .. why take the risk?

That's true and maintenance after a few months can get expensive. I feel like investing in good products like the kerastase serums and a good blow dryer/hairstraightner will help you achieve just as good of a look.
