Brazillian Blowout

So my hairstylist convinced me to get a Braziallian Blowout treatment for my frizzy hair. For $150, the treatment should last about 3-4 months if I shampoo 3-4 times a week. She said she was very pleased with results of other clients, and that I could choose not to re do it if I don’t like it.

Any testimonials?

Re: Brazillian Blowout

I had the option of doing this too but I didn't because so far...I have heard it damages hair quite a bit.

If your hair can handle a little bit of hair loss, I would go for it.

Re: Brazillian Blowout

I have heard its less damaging than the Japanese straightening...

I wish there was that kind of treatment for hair that's already fine/silky and in dire need of volume :(

Re: Brazillian Blowout

Is it same as Keratin Treatment?

Re: Brazillian Blowout

Oh boy, the article is scary :bummer:

Re: Brazillian Blowout

If its Keratin treatment then it has Formaldehyde which is cancer causing & a big No NO for hair. I have a friend who got it done & had excessive hair fall .. like literally balls of hair every time she ran her hand through her hair.

Re: Brazillian Blowout

No it's not the keratin...but after reading the article above, I was looking at the website and while the website claims they do not contain formaldehyde, the article says it does. Now I'm confused.

Re: Brazillian Blowout

I think they are similar and do contain health hazards. I dropped the idea of getting it done based on the health issues and the excessive hair fall as well.

Re: Brazillian Blowout

Oh darn it :(

Re: Brazillian Blowout

Don't do it! In the beginning, your hair will look smooth and silky, but gradually, will be falling out and feeling like straw.

Re: Brazillian Blowout

The stylist told me that it will make the hair stronger as it gets coated with some protein thingie :(

Re: Brazillian Blowout

I got it done and I had no major problems with it. I loved it but this is before the FDA came out with the risks, why not get a keratin treatment done instead?

Re: Brazillian Blowout

Such mixed reviews. Mey kya karoon.

Re: Brazillian Blowout

i don't know what to do with my frizzy hair..rebonding would make them limp and make me look bald..I can't afford to lose my already thinning hair ..all thanks to chemical straightening I did back in 2004 :(

any ideas ?

Re: Brazillian Blowout

Let’s you and me cry together :crying:

Re: Brazillian Blowout

I say go with a kertain treatment, when I got mine done it was before the FDA came out with all the risks so now I wouldn't do it. I would love to get a keratin treatment done tho.

Re: Brazillian Blowout

I say dont go with Keratin, Brazilian or any protein treatment - If FDA doesnt approve it because of major health hazards and a million people complain of excessive hair fall .. why take the risk?

Re: Brazillian Blowout

That's true and maintenance after a few months can get expensive. I feel like investing in good products like the kerastase serums and a good blow dryer/hairstraightner will help you achieve just as good of a look.

Re: Brazillian Blowout

That's probably a better idea.
