Brazillian Blowout

Re: Brazillian Blowout

Niks, don't do it. Brazilian Blowout is being stopped everywhere...stylists have gotten poisoning from it.

Its not the same as the keratin treatment...I would suggest not doing it.

Re: Brazillian Blowout

OK. So I better change my appointment from a Brazillian to a regular root touch up and styling sigh.

Thanks for all your help people.

Reha, what products would you recommend for my hair type....thick, extremely frizzy...swell up if I let them air dry after a shower. Usually I use a straightening serum and flat iron...it takes 45 minutes to get a perfect style.

Re: Brazillian Blowout

Have you ever tried the Organix products? They’re usually sold at drugstores/superstores, and are supposed to be really good for hair..ive heard alot about moroccan argan oil and they have a line of products with that..

Re: Brazillian Blowout

Hola Niks!

I posted a review for a leave in treatment I recently tried on my hair. My hair is course and curly. This softens and helps make hair extremely manageable but is not greasy.

Its called "Its a 10" leave in treatment and its sold at major salons or you can find it easily at places like CosmoProf or Sally's.

Another option is Moroccan Oil...it looks like an oil but not really an oil...more like a conditioner that helps again with the frizz, untangles and makes hair manageable so you can style easily. A little goes a long way with this so be careful how much you use.

Another product I use when doing blow dry's and straightening is Redken's Outshine 01. It helps hair move easily across the brush and gives a very nice finish. No grease or buildup.

Anyone of these will work but I currently am a huge fan of the leave in treatment.

Re: Brazillian Blowout

I have the It's a 10 leave-in. It's really awesome. Remember I mentioned how choti's hair is fine and curly and gets terribly tangled...well you should see it after one bottle...it' so soft and nourished! No tangles! So I use it too after I wash and I am loving it. I've also used Morrocon oil samples but don't have too much experience with it. I should try it.

Re: Brazillian Blowout

I have done both rebonding and keratin treatment(without formahyderate) at different times and here's my review:

Rebonding- i got it done in Pakistan at Sabs salon. Excellent results. I didnt have a great hair loss and my hair looked soo beautiful, straight, shiny and smooth for 7+ months.

Keratin Treatment- done in USA. I dont know what to think about....it didnt do ANYTHING for my frizzy curly hair. It did t straighten, didnt make them shiny, and I STILL had to use serums and still had to blow dry and straihten with flat iron. What it did do was for first 3-4 times i washed my hair it was a little easy to style my hair but that was just firstfew times, after that my hair was back to usual. I was sooo disappointed! :(

Re: Brazillian Blowout

I read somewhere that using sulfate free shampoo and conditior helps. Plus natural hair products keep hair from drying out and getting frizzy or greasy.

Re: Brazillian Blowout

I have naturally curly hair (read frizz!) and I have been getting the Brazillian Blowout, I've done it 3 times in the past 14-15 months and it's been life changing!!! My hair is so shiny and healthy, and completely frizz free!! I can finally brush it now, lol!! The blowout didn't straighten it, but relaxed my hair into really nice curl/waves. I do use sulphate/sodium chloride free shampoo & conditioner (at first, I got duped into buying the expensive name brand one at the salon, but now i get the same thing from an off-brand at Walmart for like $6).....

Re: Brazillian Blowout

Hmmm.

For now I've decided to not get this treatment done. I should do more research and unless I'm sure about it being safe, I'd rather not put myself in this situation. If you guys read about it, please post here.
