this whole incident doesnt make an average muslim safe on the streets of london. it only alienates them more. which will leads to more grievances and frustration int he community. they are more scared to cooperate more now than ever. this will also give the racist police officers a chance to abuse their powers and get away with it with a simple “sorry” and no questions asked.

Geez. What's up with all the hullabaloo here? It's not like the London bobbies have adopted a policy of shooting unarmed Brazilians in the country on expired visas.
The Brazilian was certainly an unfortunate victim of police action. May God rest his soul and give his family strength and comfort in their time of mourning.
There will, no doubt, be a shooting inquest to determine how and why the police behaved as they did. The inquest may find them to have acted recklessly and in violation of policy. It may also demonstrate that they acted reasonably, although killing an innocent man instead of a terrorist.
If a pattern starts occuring where unarmed and innocent men of disfavored skin pallor keep getting shot in London subways by the police, then we probably will have an institutionalized problem that needs to be remedied. Until then, can't we just look at this as a tragic isolated event that leads to no generalizing about racism, bigotry and police procedure?
In the meantime, all you non-blond haired, non-blue eyed, non-white skinned Guppies ought to consider moving SLOOOOOWWWWWWLLLLY when using public transportation in London and for, god's sake, leave your rucksacks at home. Consider buying your lunch for a few months instead of bringing your leftovers to work in a backpack (especially in knock-off tupperware made in India). Alternatively, think diet. If a group of guys starts running at you and yelling for you to "halt", forget your instinct to act like Jesse Owens and just stand completely still. Don't, I REPEAT DON'T, reach suddenly into your coat for your ID cards. I'm sure the cop who will be standing on your chest in a minute or so will find your wallet very quickly.
