Now Bobby? I read that in college that EQ tools were being employed in companies and staff being trained on developibg EQ skills. That was not in recent years but before. Still I think both play an important role. IQ & EQ. There are times when companies need IQ smart people to generate more profits. Then there are times & some departmental roles where EQ is more important. And then there are times and roles that require a bit of both or MOST of both.

Things change at breakneck speeds here and most of the big corporations have big signs displayed where they mention that if you are not a team player no matter how talented you are they dont want you. They aim towards a corporate culture of synergies of cooperation. My most talented boss was fired on the spot for a bit off key joke. We really look for behaviors when we hire people, we have simple systems which are easy to use.

If one chooses beauty, they’ll merely have an arm candy. But, if one chooses brains, they’ll have a life partner whom they can rely on in times of hardship, who can help them out, with whom they can have meaningful conversations about anything under the sun, who will nurture the relationship (assuming she has brains to be able to resolve relationship and social issues too and not just book brain), who you see as the one playing a major role in your child’s upbringing and so on.

So this tiny lil blonde realtor came to see us yesterday, she was a wee lil thing but she was toned like crazy and was driving a 120k SUV. My associate who works harder than anyone in the team to look after herself makes alot of money too. This world is quite biased towards good looks, better looking people may do well financially too. Running a household can be so demanding that people may not have enough time to converse on intellectual basis. Some days I am preparing 25 meals, a family of five. Boys eat 5 times a day and bring friends over. To find the cutting board in its place is way more important to me then any discussion lol. Way more important is will he let you sleep in when you are sick or tired. Will he help with the dishes or wake up when the kid is crying.

If they fired a senior talented employee because of a joke which was a bit off key, it’s not an excellent example of good EQ skills on the part of the management that fired him to deal with their staff. Yeah if that sacking had more to do with office politics because of some personal grudges & jealousy shared by many against that particular manager and make bad EQ as an excuse to fire him then that’s something else grin

It is one of the most successful corporation in their space, they have a written policy of zero tolerance of racial or sexual misconduct. Firing one person to save the corporate environment is good policy. I know EQ has been there for a long time but the implementation is a lot more comprehensive and there is always ongoing training. They engage in personality tests and stuff and train people to not to be on the extremes of the wheel but come towards the centre.

It was the HR department which made the call to fire the manager.

PS there were no grudges against the manager, our head guy was his family friend and he was loved by most of the staff. One female filed a complaint with HR that the joke was offensive to her and HR had no choice as per code of conduct. Each employee signs code of conduct every year.

That is actually a very good policy. They are following by example what they expect from their emoloyees. Expecting employees to be sensitive to others & by implementing policies as these and also adhering to the policy themselves proving by example rhat they are sensitive to their employees feelings.

That is why that corporation is successful.

That is actually a very good policy. They are following by example what they expect from their emoloyees. Expecting employees to be sensitive to others & by implementing policies as these and also adhering to the policy themselves proving by example rhat they are sensitive to their employees feelings.

That is why that corporation is successful.

You got it right, leading by example is one of the core policies. After the quarterly meeting the president was picking up the dirty plates from the tables. Our head is involved in a lot of charity work and humanitarian work and all employees are encouraged to volunteer. The advanced corporate mantra is that good ethics is good business.

Both? I want both…and tbh the definition of each can vary depending on the person…Beauty is in the eye of the beholder..and similarly there are different types of intelligence..but I’m assuming you mean book smart.

That being said..I’ve been in ristha talks with both types…, there was a girl that I was attracted to her beauty and she had a degree and everything but very impulsive and wasn’t that book smart, but she was still intelligent in her own way.
I was was in rishta talks with a pharmacist that I wasn’t attracted to right away but as I got to know her she had an amazing personality, she was okay on the looks department but that didn’t matter so much once I got to know her..

In essence..I think sure you have a choice but in the end you can’t help in what and who you are attracted too.

Nope…something always comes up..which is making me believe people aren’t really sincere online..We talked for like 2 and half months and than later she said, she didn’t feel like moving to my area because she didn’t want to leave her home town of LA. Which is understandable…but it should be something you realize from the start and not waste a persons time on (especially because I said that I couldn’t move in the like first 2-3 days we were talking). So far I’ve talked to at least 5 girls for more than 2-4 months on average, and something always comes up on there end.
Any ways..back to the topic…I think also, if you yourself present yourself as the best possible version of yourself…you’ll find a partner that will be somewhat similar to you.

Never marry a woman who does not take your breath away, it is a long hard life. Nothing is worth waking up next to a person who you are not deeply attracted to.

And your criteria of getting deeply attracted to a woman is her physical beauty?

You look at her and you forget to breathe, that is the woman a man should marry. What if he compromised and married someone for gol gol roti and then he came across someone who made his heart skip a beat. Physical attraction is not everything but you start from there and then go down the list of what you are looking for. There is a reason nature created this attraction.

When one is laying in bed looking at a skinny weak nerd I am sure the heart would not be desiring a good looking person. PS as @Mystique pointed out. many educated people can be really dumb, I see them everyday.

Both! Good looks are always welcome because it’s nice to be with someone you’re attracted to. I’ve also met enough good looking dumb dumbs in my life to know I would start looking down on them in a week and a relationship without respect is going nowhere. The attraction starts dying the moment they open their mouths so just beauty is not enough.

Okay now. I did not mean one must not care about good health in choosing partners. That is surely important. No doubt good health contributes to good looks, over all appearance and even good brain and mental capability but not all the good looking and intellectually smart people are also physically healthy

Would you marry someone who is beautiful/handsome but not as educated vs. average looking but educated? If you had to compromise, which way would you go?

I like natural beauty and am not a big fan of makeup thopp or the heavy dark makeup on eyelids that is in Pakistani magazines.

Of course, beauty would be important to me but I would take little less of beauty and more of the brain. I don’t think that I would be able to withstand a bimbo for a long time.
