GTG just a small note (ur questions are bringing back so many things I had forgotten) When you latch him off make sure you put your pinky finger in and release your breast coz if ur just pulling him out that only increases the pain for you.

Auto..I do that all the time..I was afraid he would choke on milk if I pulled him out..I kerned the pain part by accident..ouch!
I m loving the lap burps.. My husband was having a heart attack but then I showed him a you tube video n he settled a bit..he doesn't burp after every breast feed but alhamduliaah they r loud n clear after bottle feed! Thanks girls!

Lap burps were awesome.I also have the cutest pictures of E sitting like a buddha baba on her abu's lap...I will show them to her when she grows up...muahhahah.
It looks as if it will harm the baby but they actually work better than having them against the shoulder.
