GTG, I used to boil water in the microwave (really really hot ) and then do what the other ladies have mentioned, but mine didn't take too long to warm up.
We didn't have any prob with Tommy tippee and the gulping part infact I kept thinking that the flow was too slow. Good luck inshaaAllah. Just make sure you have him burp and hold him in that position a bit longer (we used to do that when feeding from the bottle, I was scared out of my mind that he would get gas and be colicy and I even kept drinking what other girls mentioned here about the ajwain water so that my bm wouldn't give him gas)
I used to massage Jr.s tummy in circles and also make him lie on my knee/thigh on his tummy. I don't remember exactly the proportion of the ajwain water but it was something khawa suggested in one of the threads. I think it was ajwain and saunf in equal quantities in boiling water and drink that upon cooling (but pls re-check on the forum)
I used to drink that instead of normal water and I watched my diet like a hawk (no gassy stuff no exceptions, tried to have lots of fruit so no constipation)
I think I messed up stuff today.. It took me a while to put him to sleep and that happened only when I put him on his tummy on my thighs. As soon as I put him down, he wakes up crying. Did I make him gassy with that bottle feed?

I might have it written down somewhere I am gonna look for you. It might not be you, it might be the bottle. Don't worry try to get your hands on some other bottle and try that but I would suggest tommee tippee as soon as you can. And someone might be able to add something or correct me but our nurse told us that the baby's tummy should not be hard, (I don't remember correctly it should be soft meaning baby is not gassy if tummy is hard then massage to get the gases out)

1 tesspoons fenel seed, 1 teaspoon ajwain seed boil in water for 10 min , and drain all water give this to ur baby with dropper or spoon, its help, when my little one had same problem,, also try give him /her massage on tummy
Now I did not give this to my baby, I drank this as my water and it helped a LOT. My baby was never colicy and if he had gases he was farting pretty regularly (As gross as it sounds honestly hearing him fart was such a sigh of relief for us)
Thanks....I m making it right now! He is not nursing well today, on n off with faces like he is in pain... I m giving him tummy massages too! He is burping n pooping after every feed so I m hoping he isn't gassy but he is very restless n fussy!
I can't wait for tomorrow to buy both playtex n tommee tippee, at least one of them will work IA.

i know you're tired and upset, but stop being so hard on yourself, gtg. believe me, none of us first time moms know what the heck we're doing when our babies arrive. we actually rushed ours to the ER one night because he wuldn't stop crying and crying and we were freaking out because we had no idea what the heck was wrong with him. turns out he was hungry. DOH!!!!! it took 4 hours of torture and an ER nurse to tell us that before we clued in.
have you tried a humidifier? that, plus elevating him, made ours sleep much better when he had a stuffy nose. he was in a co-sleeper in our bed so we would just put a folded towel under his head and shoulders beneath the co-sleeper and so he'd be sleeping at a slight angle in a slightl upright position. the saline solution helped too although he wasn't a big fan of it at all so we'd wait until he was drinking from his bottle to squirt it up his nose. he fussed less that way.
Like SGC said no one knows what to do when the baby first comes home, one time 2 days after we bought my son home, he was screaming and screaminig and I didn’t know what to do and my mom was in the shower, my husband was pacing the room and I was on the bed crying with the baby until my mom came rushing in, she took the baby and patted him on the back and he led out a huge burp.
Trust me it’ll get easier for both of you. We ended up using a ball syringe to clear my sons nose before any feedings…he screamed during it but the feeding was much better.
We tried tommee tippee y'day, he was guying that one down too..makes me think that I have Avery slow flow so he isn't used to it but it went okay. I also bought thebplaytex n will try those today.. Let's see how that goes!
The only problem is he tries to suck on breast nipples too now which hurts, so I keep unlatching him until he stops that..I guess he is just thinking that as a bottle too!
^ Is it letdown that hurts? It used to hurt me a lot at the beginning until my body figured out exactly how much it needed to make and when. Took a few weeks to settle down. But there was still some pain.
Letdown startles him so he makes the shallow latch to decrease the flow, which not only hurts me but I don't think he gets too much of milk either that way.
Sgc.. The look he gives me for unlatching him just melts my heart that sometime I just ignore it all..now he extends his neck backward to do the same..these babies are too smart, seriously!
Wetried the playtex today but he cried so much that we had to swit h to tommee tippee in the middle of feed.. So far that has been successful but I don't know if that will make him gassy or so because there isn't any airflow preventer in this bottle! I do try to burp him after every feed especially the bottle feed, but sometimes he just doesn't burp. :(

I used to hold E against my chest and tap on her back,while her head was on my shoulder.She took too long and sometimes even did not burp.
We switched to the other position where we held her in our lap and had one hand on her chest/under her neck and patted her back with the other.It worked within minutes.I saw the nurses do it in the hospital with her.I
f you are not doing it already,switch and it'll help.
