Dude.. Its a known fact that drug trafficing has not seen much of a decline, infact it hasnt declined at all, although there has been a marked reduction of girls school and anything else thats apparently unislamic in the FATA.

There's no denying that a lot of FOBS (especially rich brats) do things merely to ape the west, whether they enjoy it or not, they'll see something on Cable/Dish and they're so in awe they want to do it to, Western lifestyle is too over glamorised, FOBS need telling that everything that glitters is not gold.

You mentioned so called "western" attire and food, I've no problem with that, we live in a cosmopolitan world, things like that are universal culture now, jeans and t-shirt are not just American and pizza is not just Italian anymore, they are universal. Traditionalists who wear rags (shalwar kameez) in wet/windy Britain irritate me just as much, I hate both extremes of people.

There's nothing wrong with adopting positive things from the west but blind aping is never good, we could do without the negative consequences of alcohol because unlike the west a poor country like Pakistan does not have the means to cope with them.

It frustrates me to read about our generation drinking and doping and thinking that's all life is about.. What's going to happen to the country if these are its hires?? Westerners do neg things but they also work hard, FOBS only copy the "play hard" bit and ignore the "work hard" bit.

Pakistan ka kuch naheen honay wala, India ke saath phir se ek ho jaaen, we'll play hard and let the hard workin Indians earn a name for us in the world because it's not good being associated with a country headed for the gutter.. or I might just have a nosejob and be a white boy.

BUT One thing I want to say here is…

Do you know if alcohol was NOT Prohibitted in Pakistan, we would have laws against (it), can you believe it , If I get pissed drunk and drive on the road and kill someone the victims family cannot file a complaint against me for DUI, cause in Pakistan alcohol is not allowed and NO one drinks in Pakistan

DUI, no. Murder, yes. Not to mention, it really depends on who you are and who you kill…a public lynching is very well possible. Hell, I remember when I visited Karachi as a kid…saw some poor sap hit a donkey. Dude was chased around by several dudes who looked mighty pissed…couldn’t figure out what the hell was going on…figure it was the underclass sticking together…

Well, I also applaud the singers who refused to stop singing at weddings despite the threats from MMA, the billboard painters who did all they could to get around the ban on ikages of women, and all those who isisted on living their lives despite the fundo fantics running around.
Whether these guys are harming themselves is not up to us to decide, I think its their life and they have a right ot live it they way they feel fit.

I know about the Afghan poppy achievments.. Fact is that they did that after pressure form the outside… They werent half as commited to eliminatiing poppy as they were to eliminating alcahol, music, girls schools, entertainment of any kind, and things adultery…
Drug use in FATA and other parts of the NWFP and Balochistan where religous groups have power, there has been no decrease in drug addication or any hit on the drug trade.

Because those drugs end up getting smuggled into Europe where it then becomes the problem of the Europeans… These outsiders dont care about girls schools, or musicians, or anyone else no matter how much suffer so long as this doesnt impact them directly.
