Why people keep books in shelves just to show off, when they don’t have any interest in reading?

I don't agree that a person who love reading can't get time for book. In most of the cases, people get busy, but they come back to their interest when they get time. I'm talking of those people, who use books as decoration pieces.

I think this habit of making books reserved for shelf is centuries old and books like Quran are also kept aside for years in many cases

Ok a relevant question raise by Mumtaz Mufti decades ago. Why can't we make Quran as our bed book?

Maybe because Holy Quran gives us knowledge not leisure.

True. What is more important for us. Gaining knowledge from the holy book by making it our Bed book or keeping it aside for its reverence?
