reminds me of a old joke where an elder asks a young man, how much he had studied.. the man replies: Jee B.A kar liyaa hai, abb soch rahaa hooN High School bhee kar hee looN
Jee B.A kar liyaa hai, abb soch rahaa hooN Metric bhee kar hee looN:p
what are these books about a lil detail will do, not alot just so we can get the gist of the stories
Is that also by dan brown or another person?
When i finished reading Dan browns i started reading this book by Paul Sussman “The Last Secret Of the Temple” Bassically its on the same lines as da vinci Code but its about the jewish religion and Muslims. i thought it was very interesting some parts were a bit of a bore but its a good read for time pass.
Are these all in Urdu if they are can you get English Translations of them or not?
I read an urdu novel Called “Khuda ki Basti” Cant remember who the writer was, but that was a brilliant novel
Is that not out yet im eagerly awaiting for that too when my work collegue told me about it last year i thought it definately sounded interesting
i dont think u can get english translations … though Naseem Hijazi is big name in urdu novel .. but still i dont think any 1 translate urdu novels in english
well even publisher is not revealing the publishing date …
Very Frequently i read books i do have a small collection of them. but depending on what am into at the time i read anything of interest. wether its Fiction, non-Fiction, Romance, thriller, murder etc.
Recently i;ve been hooked on this pakistani guys novel He's called Nadeem Aslam. I Loved his books two of my favourites infact. The way they are written etc i really enjoyed them and could never put them down.
So what sort of books do you read
Can you recomend any good books :D
YOU LIKE NADeEEM ASLAM?! NAHEEEE YAARRRR HE'S SUCH A BAFOON..
I READ MAPS TO LOST LOVERS AND I WANTED TO KILL HIM!! NOW AY!!!!!!!!
^^ sweety you didnt think it was gross?
Like forget the fact that we are muslim -- but some scenes were just not acceptable for any culture.
Ex. teh scene where the mother catches the boy jerking off and when confronted the boy masturbates on his mother. Is that normal anywhere?
Or a son referring to his mother as a "cunt" on national newspaper.
The whole book is based on an a married woman living with her boyfriend and being murdered for it. The whole problem was that she couldnt marry her BF because her husband was MIA and there was no way divorce him. But in Islam if you husband is not around for X number of years then you are free of the marriage. There were many many small mistakes in his interpretation of Islam and hindusim for that matter. I knwo for a fact that a devote Hindu would not burn himself the way Shamas's father did.
The book was the author's way of getting back at his family. He's a sicko and freak!
Have you read any of his interviews? He's manic-depressive(sp).
I wanted to burn the book after I was done!
Yes those parts were definately Gross, i havent read any of the interviews or anything to do with the book, i found it Fascinating prob cos of the fact that its the first ever book i read from an asian Writer.
However i did find the plot of the book really weird but at the time that i read it i was lets say ignorant of most things in islam and didnt bother looking up the info until later on. but i thought being a non fiction book it wouldnt have been true any way:konfused:

Two sisters.. one runs away for love the other marries a bald man for her parents sake and moves from bangla to London. He's not particularly a bad man but not great either.. the story is pretty much about her raising a family while learnin about herself and learning to let go.
You go through drugs, working mediroce jobs, an affair and much more.
Good read -- often I saw the struglles my mom must have went through when she came to America
