Re: Books... Books.... And More Books
woman both are interesting -- lekin naam and author tho bolo..
i think I saw SOLD lekin didnt buy it.
First one is Sold, the Sequel to that is A Promise to Nadia. Both by the same author. Zana Muhsen and Andrew Crofts
There is a third book relating to the same story is by their British Mother, i found it boring.
The second one she is referring to is Not Without my Daughter and its sequel is For the Love of a Child.
I'll list books from my personal library that I found moving and worth reading.
Do they hear you when you Cry by Fauziya Kassindja
About female mutilation of genitilia or Circumcision. Its horrifying but reading it gives you inner strength and makes you realize your blessings.
Burned Alive by Souad
Another female book which details accounts of how a young girl was burned alive and left to die after having an affair with her neighbour. I found the book very interesting, you realize that its just not india/pakistan where such things happen.
Mirage by Soheir Khashoggi
I dont know whether this is a true story but regardless another very interesting read.
Its the story of a girl from a wealthy arab family married to a Prince who turns out to be gay. When she finds out he tries to kill her. She then escapes to America with her baby son, changes her name and appearance and raises her son.
Forbidden Love by Norma Khouri
This one you may not be able to find in bookstores. Apparently they found the author to be lying bout the facts stated in the book as she did say that the story is based on real life events. Again a book bout honor killing set in Jordan.
My Forbidden face by Latifa
Story of a young Afghan girl after the Talibans come into power.
The Bride Stripped Bare by Anonymous
I think Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna was based on this book, or maybe i could be wrong. Cute and Sad book, you go through so many emotions.
Im tired of typing now, rest later. :)
