I have some boneless chicken that I want to use up. Can I get some yummy chinese recipes please?

chicken manchurian.. I got this recipe from Daagh and Fatee long time ago.. it turns out awesome.

Ingredients: To serve 4
* Chicken breast 250 gms
* Tomato-Chilli ketchup 1 cup
* Chicken stock 1 cup
* White pepper 1 tab sp
* Corn floor 3 tb sp
* Egg 1
* Green paste 1 tab sp
* Garlic 4-5 cloves
* Green chillies 2-3

Procedure:
- For chicken:
Marinate chicken pieces in 1 beaten egg, 2 sp corn flour, 1/2 sp white pepper, salt and sugar.
Marinate for 1.5 hours.
Shallow fry chicken pieces, without turning them brown, on low heat.

  • For sauce: Heat 2 tb sp oil. Add chopped garlic and green chillies. Add tomato-chilli ketchup. Add chicken stock. Add salt, sugar and white pepper. Add 1 tab sp corn floor. Once the sauce starts to boil, add the fried chicken pieces. Cook for five minutes. Serve hot on boiled or fried rice.

Muniya I usually just sprinkle half a teaspoon.. I dun like the taste of sugar in a khana. :D

I have never seen white pepper in the US but it's very common in Pakistan.. do you guys have any idea if it's available here or not!

ps: but then again I cook a lot mroe in Pakistan than i do in my maika here so dunno what's available and what's not!!! :$

white pepper is easily available in the US too....the regular grocery stores carry it...u might wanna check the spice aisle...:)

I did get white pepper from the grocery store here.

I couldn't find white pepper in American stores either but I recently found it at Patel Brothers store. It is from Swad brand so you may find it at some desi store.

Chinese recipes ka tho mujai nahee patha but I sure can think of a million other things to do with the chicken breats

I know youcan buy Maggi tomato chilli sauce and some other brands too at the desi grocery store. By green paste, I think she means green chilli sauce???

Well I did try looking for white pepper at stop and shop, price rite, and Big Y.. didn’t find it so probably I am just looking at the wrong super markets.

chipsy.. where did you find it?

CA: We dun have any desi stores near by.. there is a one own by somalians but usually we have to write it down for them what exactly do we want like shaan masala or such. :smiley:

Sidra: I usually use the desi store tomato chilli garlic sauce (Maaza or Maggie) last time I used the chinese store one.. it turned out as yummy as the other one.

green paste is 1:1:2 of Ginger:Garlic:Green chillies. (as Daagh describes it :D)

and as soon as I opened another thread this is a picture of it.. I love this sauce for chinese.
