Injured Bond out of Test series

Shane Bond has been ruled out of the rest of the Test series against Pakistan due to a torn abdominal muscle. Bond was the Player of the Match in the thrilling win in Dunedin, where he took eight wickets for the game in what was his first Test in two years.
Bond suffered minor abdominal discomfort following the 32-run victory and scans on Tuesday revealed a one-centimetre tear in an abdominal muscle. The New Zealand team manager Dave Currie said Bond would be rested from the second and third Tests as a precaution.
He is expected to recover in time for New Zealand’s home series against Bangladesh early next year. The selectors are likely to name a replacement for Bond by Wednesday, with the second Test set to begin in Wellington on Thursday.
The Dunedin match marked Bond’s comeback to Test cricket after he was made ineligible for New Zealand selection due to his decision to play in the ICL. Bond has always been injury-prone and up until his ICL defection he had managed to play only 17 Tests in six years.
well Pakistan almost clinched the game with their crappy side in Bond’s presence. They definitely have the talent to come back in the series regardless of Bond’s presence.
Waisay itna na hassoo. Do you remember what happened the last time India faced Bond in Newzealand? They got dismissed for 161, 121, 99, and 154 in the four inngins of 2 test matches.
That's one good news and the second one should come tomorrow night at the toss when we hear that Farhat has been dropped from the side. It was like New Zealand played with 12 players and Pak with 10 because Farhat was helping them and dropped 4 catches total in that first test. Yet Yousuf continued to keep him in the slips. I think now Misbah should take his place in the slips and to accomodate Misbah, I think they should drop Farhat, open with Fawad Alam/Salman Butt or drop Shoaib Malik for Misbah and Butt for Farhat. All the openers sucks so its not that we are getting better with Butt. But I guess at least Butt is not the damad.

ouch that hurts ..... were all the top class batsmen like Sachin, Dravid, Laxman and ganguly present in the best batting lineup or PIU has some excuse? ;)

No man - Butt is lousy but he has limited improved potential to score something as opener. I mean lesser of evils under the given circumstances.
So 2 changes should be a given - Butt for Farhat and Mazoor or Alam for Misbah.
3rd change could be Faisal for Malik. Why not try bhanja for Malik - see if he has something to offer...they are both a toss up.

The key word is ALMOST ;)
