Five bombs explode in New Delhi, 10 killed - Yahoo! India News

The big question is …
Will Aussies cancel their tour to india ?
Will they even think abt it ?

p.s. this is not an anti india thread

re: Bomb blast in Delhi/Australia on Track to tour India

i think they'll continue with tour coz too much money at stake for both Sides but more for BCCI

will interessting to see how the Aussies react to that

re: Bomb blast in Delhi/Australia on Track to tour India

This thought crossed my mind multiiple times in the past few weeks --- that there might be bomb blasts in India during or before the India-Australia tour --- obviously orchestrated by elements across the border -- peeved at foreign teams declining to come to their country --- so they make sure India too gets clubbed with them.

The tour has not yet started and these blasts may not have anything to do with Cricket - but there is no doubt in my mind who is behind these blasts.

The thought process among our enemies is --- hum to doobenge sanam, tumko bhi le doobenge...

Whom are you kidding....I detect a sense of rejoice among Pakistanis....in the suggestion that now India is as unsafe as Pakistan......misery loves company.

I see this thread either being closed or moved to Politics section coz after 2 odd posts that's where almost all the Post ginna head to.

Well across the border r claims that those fighting in the Northeren Area get a lot of support from GUESS WHO

Well this is beyond me

I still hope this Tour takes place as i'm desparate to see some competitve Cricket atlast

so are u saying that the reason behind the blasts are ‘stop india getting cricket

the sole purpose of the thread is … the world is unsafe … if u r touring india/england/srilanka … then u can tour Pakistan too …

b/w … i m really laughing my back off at the 1st comment :omg:
grow up man :salute:

Only if you cared to read the rest of my post....you would know what I am saying.

Cricket or not cricket...the fact remains that Pakistanis don't like the fact that India is perceived as a much more stable country by foreigners compared to Pakistan.

re: Bomb blast in Delhi/Australia on Track to tour India

This is not a Politics thread but I would like to just get this in :

I don't consider myself to be a hardline Indian jingoist - but I am amazed at the impotence of the Indian Govt. United States has said that it has clear proof of Pakistan's involvement in the Indian Embassy blasts....yet the Indian Govt seems to be downplaying the serious nature of that revelation....and still acting lovey-dovey with Pakistan....and not to mention that the baniyaas at BCCI showing solidarity with PCB at every opportunity.

I know this post will not go down well with my Pak friends here.....but I am only giving the Indian perspective.

Yes, you are right. ISI was so desparate to watch ICCCT, since it was cancelled PCB and ISI decided to have some fireworks in India.

Yes, its only and only PCB.

And I feel same sense of joy by Indians whenever they read bomb blasts in Pakistan, US raids in Pakistani territory, any little hint of Baluchi uprising etc.

re: Bomb blast in Delhi/Australia on Track to tour India

saaray Pakistan ka ek hi naara: ehtasab ehtasab

I think this is the problem tho and this is what Some1 is trying to say. I mean even though Sep11 happened in the US, that country is still very safe. Same with Britain and other countries. I dont think you can compare them to the state in which Pakistan is in. Pretty much every media mentions Pakistan along with Iraq and Afghanistan. Infact, if you watch the news, US military is operating in Pakistan against terrorists.

And I find it really strange because the BCCI has been solidly behind the Pakistan board from the start even though the rest of the countries were against it and still we see the bitter resentment and the stone age mentality.

re: Bomb blast in Delhi/Australia on Track to tour India

Without going into the details of who did it and why did it, answer of the question is NO. Aus can not even THINK about canceling the INDIAN tour. Too mush is at stake.

re: Bomb blast in Delhi/Australia on Track to tour India

Aussies would not dare to cancel their tour to India because they know this is their perfect opportunity to showcase their talent in the test series so they can receive more lucrative offers in the upcoming season of IPL. We all need to understand, they don't give a crap about playing cricket in Pakistan or India, its all about money & endorsement.

re: Bomb blast in Delhi/Australia on Track to tour India

sadly it will be pointed at Muslims causing the bombing and killing in neighboring country.

Where is the discussion heading?

This is Cricketnama.

The question was raised about the biased view point of countries like Australia. If they do not have any problem visiting india in such circumstance, then, why pakistan?

Why are you guys turning into a blame game who did what?

May be some Khalistan group was responsible... who cares about it in Cricket forum..

Go to World Affairs.. there is a thread in that section... Give your two cents in that thread.

Kapish!

Cadet: you may want to clean and set the direction of this thread again to where you want and focus it on cricket...

I am locking it for now!

Australia on Track to tour India

I wonder how quickly they came up with the decision to tour India, even though they said their security expert will give report on Tuesday (how quick that is compare to the security reports of months and months over and over again in Pakistan. That is the hypocracy of these westerners, specially Aussies)

Shafqat Naghmi rightly said in his report double standards…Please don’t deviate this subject into India Pak bashing because that has nothing to do with it, it is very sad that there was bomb blasts in Delhi, every human life is precious, but its sad to see that how these cricketing nation’s behave and I wish ICC can take action against these culprits. Don’t they have any fear of life now??? it is a big question mark?

Ofcourse I will be the first one to see Aussie bashing in cricket grounds of India, love to see some cricket.

Cricinfo - Australia on track for India tour

Australia’s Test squad still plans to depart for India on Sunday despite increased fears over security following deadly bomb attacks in New Delhi on Saturday. Cricket Australia officials met with representatives from the Australian government’s department of foreign affairs on Monday to receive an update on the safety situation in India.

Michael Brown, Cricket Australia’s general manager of cricket, will also be given a report on Tuesday from Reg Dickason, the team’s security advisor, but a spokesman said there had been no change to the schedule for the four-Test series. “Our position is that the tour is going ahead unless we are otherwise persuaded,” Peter Young, Cricket Australia’s general manager of public affairs, told Cricinfo. “Our advice is there are some concerns and to exercise caution, but currently they do not compromise the tour. Our plan is to depart on September 21 subject to our advice.”

Stephen Smith, Australia’s foreign minister, said the final decision on the tour would, as usual, be taken by Cricket Australia. “We’ll provide them with all of our up-to-date travel and assessment advisories,” he said. “They are also, as I understand it, getting their own independent security advice which is what they do on a regular basis.”

Australia have scheduled warm-up games in Jaipur and Hyderabad, where bombs have gone off over the past year, before heading to Bangalore, where one person was killed in attacks in July, for the opening Test on October 9. While Cricket Australia will continue to discuss the issue with their security advisers, the government and the Indian board, more information on the situation in the country is available from members of the Australia A squad.

The outfit is currently in Hyderabad, 1500km south of New Delhi, for a one-day tri-series and the first match was against New Zealand A on Monday. Young said the team wanted to stay and play.

“In consultation with the BCCI, we have upgraded security in and around the dressing rooms and they will have an escort to the ground,” Young said. “They have also been told not to leave the hotel without good reason. It’s just a matter of prudence.” The squad is travelling with a security advisor who is part of Dickason’s team.

The Australian Cricketers’ Association does not believe the danger in India is as bad as in neighbouring Pakistan, but Paul Marsh, the chief executive, said he expected “heat” if Australia toured. “If the team stays in India, there might be some who criticise us for double standards,” he told the Sydney Morning Herald. "But people need to understand our starting point is that we always want to tour.

“We go to extreme lengths to obtain the best advice on the situation of each country we visit. In Pakistan’s case this year, people we rely on told us not to tour. If they say not to tour again, we’ll listen. Bombs going off anywhere are a concern.”

More than 20 people were killed in the explosions in New Delhi, which will host the third Test from October 29. “The threat assessment for India has been considerably lower than that of Pakistan,” Marsh said in the Australian. “We want to find out if the latest bombings will change that in any way and what our independent experts think about our Australia A players being over there at the moment. As always we’ll rely on the advice of the experts.”

re: Bomb blasts in Delhi/Australia on Track to tour India

When lotsa money is involved "we`ll stand with the [affected] country ", when there is little money "life is more important".

re: Bomb blasts in Delhi/Australia on Track to tour India

its all about money :hinna:

Re: Bomb blasts in Delhi/Australia on Track to tour India

I am not saying that India is a very safe place -- infact hardly so given the alarming frequency of bomb blasts in recent times.

But the fact remains -- that in the geo-political scheme of things in the post 9/11 world, a westerner's life is at much greater risk in Pakistan than in India.
