Incredibly sad news. RIP.
He was the only person in Punjab government who was sincerely leading the operation against LeJ, and openly spoke against them. There were clear threats on his life after Malik Ishaq's killing, and he went to his ancestral village risking his security.
Brave man who proved that once a solider, always a soldier!
Rest in peace, Colonel. You will be missed.

Shame on that dumb scoundrel 'bloody civilian' of a Prime Minister - his frontline man against terrorism has been martyred in a cowardly attack, the whole country is in a massive shock, and he's no where to be seen or heard to condemn the tragedy and take the nation into confidence. How shameless and selfish is he?
Once again, Army chief comes forward and asks agencies to find the perpetrators, and tries to boost nation's moral in such difficult time. This is something the Prime Minister should have done, no?
I hope operation Clean Up Punjab is on the cards next. We need Rangers and a mini Zarb e Azb to take place there. Now Col. Shuja is gone, there is no one, absolutely no one in PMLN ranks who is remotely interested in taking on the Punjab terror network.

Only two options are there for Punjab govt, to carry on with the legacy of shuja khanzada or push their heads deep in the sand and pretend nothing's happening. I hope they pursue the former path, the terrorists should not find any place to hide as they are like cancer, if not treated they'll kill us (Pakistan)

i really doubt anything serious from punjab govt given their track record......and now they will be even more scared. i mean have you seen anyone condemning murderers by taking their organization name? PM, chief minister, president, governor? anyone? same mindless useless stataments.
waisay shah jee you are in lahore and more connected....any news on ishaq murder? still not sure how did malik ishaq got killed..... i still cannot believe that that monster is gone. was it only done by army or was punjab govt on board? if punjab govt was on board then these are good news but if not, then we are back to square one

brother I am not in Lahore at the moment. As far as my reading of this killing is concerned, I believe gauging the statement of COAS (regarding Shujah’s killing) he did have a role in the current anti terror operation in Punjab. Like you have mentioned in your post that the government might again go back to inaction, thats my fear too.

We got a Martyr, the guy leading from the front, the fearless, The brave, as his name suggests, he have broken the back bone of terrorists in Punjab and have indiscriminately operated against all terror groups..
For the terrorists to know, he was not the last of the braves, we are still after u, and keep sending u to hell where u belong...
The one cursing punjab govt..should tell who appointed him and gave him liberty to operate??? Any idea.... Stop politicizing his death...he was brave minister and have been among one of the casualties of war...his role should be remembered.
Last i heard from govt corridors, they have decided to intensify the operation and soon we are going to see the results...

It was only a matter of time the militants targeted the stronghold of power. Now, that Punjab is under attack it will be interesting to see how the Prime Minister reacts to this cowardly attack. He clearly gives "Zero F**ks" about other provinces.

Punjab is under attack because operations against this scum have already started. Numerous raids have already taken place at night and lots of people have been arrested. This has been going on for weeks and will now Insha'Allah only gather pace. Today was a retaliation as is being reported everywhere.
Todays incident was extremely sad. Shuja Khanzada was an extremely capable person, perhaps the only man in PML N who genuinely wanted to do something against groups like LeJ (who PML N have always supported and turned a blind eye to by the way)

yes you have a fair point...as always, some people are trying to politicize his death. their only agenda is to not to have any objective discussion
if he was such a brave guy and was conducting and planning anti-terror operations in punjab (which he was), then we shd give credit to punjab govt and shahbaz sharif for appointing him and let him work freely. as i said in my post above and that malik ishaq has been killed shows punjab govt is showing some resolve.
but this is also a fact that rana sana who has been labeled as LeJ sympathizer is till there...in the past, shahbaz and PMLN have been very slow against TTP in punjab and scared of them...so there are some genuine concerns

If Army is beyond serious about eliminating terrorism, they simply should not let any muk mukka take place between PMLN and terrorists outfits. Col. Shuja - along with Ch. Nisar - was the bridge between Military and Punjab Government, he was sincerely working on NAP at a very local level. If Punjab Government does not pick up where he left and keeps his legacy alive, the chances are Corps Commanders Punjab might become active and start playing a visibly leading role in implementing NAP in Punjab like they are doing in Karachi and Balochistan, and that'll allow Zarb e Azb to come a full circle there. The next Apex Committee in Punjab should be very interesting. The COAS should definitely call one soon.
