Re: Another suicide bomb blast kills 20 Pakistan commando forces
Whatever or whoever is in power, we must not cave into the demands of people who use terrorism. That is the problem with mullah supporters, they think we should start supporting taliban because they are attacking us and that is the only way to stop attacks. It's like opening the door for the robber so that we don't have to deal with a broken door. Not an inch should be given to these terrorists.
Re: Another suicide bomb blast kills 20 Pakistan commando forces
It clearly is. People vote with there actions. Where are the street protests we see when something thousands of miles away happens, in some distant land. This is Pakistan, and no one is standing up to the militants.
Sadly, and its true here, a majority of Pakistanis have views sympathetic with radicalism. It comes from the strain of Islam most of them seem to follow.

The majority of the Pakistani population obviously dont oppose Taleban as much as you and I. I agree that these sons of horlots must be driven into the grave, to the false reality they dream off. But without political will, this will not happen. The Lal Masjid episode has opened the gates of hell for Pakistan, and only now do we see how widespread and well armed the paralell Islamist govt of parts of Pakistan is.
Re: Another suicide bomb blast kills 20 Pakistan commando forces
Is there the political will? 80% of politicians are in the Mullahs pockets!
its unclear where patriotism for religion or patriotism for country begin and end with pakistan. this situation is about militancy, the patriotism can remain as is
the lal masjid affair thought us where the line of acceptability is. the pakistani nation will back action against fata militants
they'll be the odd damaka, but the public will support the need by the armed forces against these brutal attacks
some pakistanis perhaps want conservatism, not talibanisation! they want to be more like saudi then afghanistan
Re: Another suicide bomb blast kills 20 Pakistan commando forces
Saudi Arabia is an extremist nation. Dont let the fancy buildings created by oil dollars fool you, that land is the epicenter of international Islamist militant ideology.

well pakistanis want to be comfortable. get over the injustice of poverty in pakistan. to feel secure with religion and to see others being comfortable with islam. the militant side of saudi is not the image they admire.
Re: Another suicide bomb blast kills 20 Pakistan commando forces
I read once somewhere, no nation can be destroyed from outside until it destroys itself from the inside first. This nation is the Pakistani people, there lack of moral standards, education, proper understanding of their faith and attitude to improve and live by the rules they make.
Re: Another suicide bomb blast kills 20 Pakistan commando forces
Seems like we are in same trouble as US is in Iraq/Afghanistan. We can't use force to win against such people (hint: US in Iraq/Afghanistan), we will have to have sincere "security" forces who will mingle among such people and then work from there probably a la Saddam but then that might bring its own consequences i.e. a different monster from Alkeyda/Taliban. If militants can have gain access to such secure areas why can't our "super duper" army/ISI establish a force which will point out the militants and grab/shoot/bomb them? Probably ISI is more aligned towards militants than the nation it is supposed to serve.

First of all, I hope that these attacks and PA operations do not continue during Ramadan.
Secondly, this post is the most realistic one of all. To all those calling for force, go ahead, what is stopping the PA? :)
As for the talk about Baluchistan, ZAB's mission was hardly a success. It drove Baluchi tribes towards a low intensity guerrilla warfare - which has not subsided to this day. Of all the provinces/ethnicites, the Baluch have the greatest dissatisfaction with the state. Go ahead and try the American "force" approach and then cry about the results.
Re: Another suicide bomb blast kills 20 Pakistan commando forces
Well the soft approach clearly isnt working. You seem to suggest we just hand over the keys. Much of the institutions of state seem aligned with Islamist forces. Pakistan is the biggest terrorist concern in the world. That is the sad reality.

We will have to take similar route to get rid of "militancy" as we took to establish it in first place.
Re: Another suicide bomb blast kills 20 Pakistan commando forces
Not bombing them is not an option. Please define "right measures"
Right measures would be, for example stopping any "import" of ammunition esp going from "FATA" to other cities, strict measures are needed if "security" is what we need, secondly we need to nip the evil in the bud i.e. lal masjid, we let them get away far too long (let them collect ammunitions, let them harass public/businesses etc.), we need to deport all foreigners etc. By bombing we will definitely have "collateral" damage which will cause an uproar in the locals who will then join to take "revenge" of the "victims" it will just go on and on.

No one is talking about handing over anything. What is the core reason why the extremists have stepped up attacks against Pakistani people/military? Pakistan's alliance with the US on this war on terror. Before 2001, suicide bombings were never as common as you see them in the news these days. Islamabad was never under this threat.
US WILL vacate Afghanistan and it WILL turn its back on Pakistan. What will be left is an isolated Pakistan that cannot even think of allying with its religious guerrilla forces that had served as the cannon fodder of the many grand schemes of the GHQ.
Go ahead and use force and the blowback will be worse than the US has faced. The only difference will be the ability to return. America can pull its forces out of the Mideast, will Pakistan cede FATA, NWFP + Baluchistan? Absolutely brilliant.
Hey.. why think so hard.. c'mmon guys we have NUKES why dont we use those to at least wipe out at least 10 karore of these idiots who still stick to Pakistan Zinda bad .. the wiping could bring start of a new era...just like the Poll Pot thought.. and Mush can be the King of new found land for as long as he thinks..
