I've been to this foodstreet so many times over the years Spent so many days there during my school days used to eat naan and chanay . Used to be Lahore Ki Shan back in the day. Feels like an old friend has been hurt

muqawee, the point is that the violence anywhere else in the country does not seem to strike our PM. He has chosen to go to china to see their train system. (I thought energy policiy was all sewn up eh?) but PM thought its better to visit china with whole gang.

I dont doubt NS's sincerity for Pakistan. I hope he is strong enough to deal with this problem head on and take hard decisions.

Isn't it too early to assess PM's intentions against violence? How will violence in the country benefit his government is beyond my understanding?

If China's visit is all about observing train system, then whats Saad Rafique doing in Pakistan. to condemn events like Sheikhoopura incident today? They have met representative of power companies to re-start projects like Nandi poor, etc which were abandoned by PPP Govt for God knows what reasons. We should wait and see how this visit affects Pakistan's problems. This is not the first time that ruler of a country visited another country with some family members. Even US Presidents visited Pakistan and India with their families.

Official trip is on the expensive of Govt., and Govt., is chosen by public and when public is in need and there is no Govt. official around in time of need that what is use of such Govt., and official trip. Hence, that official trip can be postponed.

Bhai I disagree with u, they should be there in time of needs not after that

ok let me know what would have they done if they were present in Lahore? issuing some statements and making a fact finding committee. This is what CMs and PMs have been doing in Pakistan. ye kaam Lahore main bhi ho sakta tha aur they will do that from China as well.

you know wht ppl say in Pakistan, hum 50 rupee ki cheez 100 mei khareednay jo tyra han, load shedding bhi bardasht kr le gay, humay sirf aman chahye. when will our government know the priorities after evry few hours we are hearing some bad news daily more than 10 lives are lost, and it is increasing day by day.

Bhai in presence of dour bhet kr karny mein buhat difference hy. They say they are living in an Islamic Country and also are Muslims then they must do their duties with honestly. Jo action lene hy, committee qaim karni hy, statement deni hy woh bhi sab ke saamny honi chahiyeh.

very sad news....i hope and pray it is not a new wave of terrosim in lahore...when can we have a normal country where we can go have a dinner with peace of mind at least.....

This was exactly what I have been fearing. There are no extra ordinary security measures in Punjab. The province was spared previously as PMLN was able to convince the terrorists that they had nothing to do with the policy related to terrorism. If the previous policy continues then the Punjab government has no excuse to offer them. What ever PMLN wants to do, they need to come up with a response soon as this inaction and confusion is helping the terrorists.

You would have to do pre-emptive strikes on the terrorists, like the much maligned FBI anti terrorist program, but how effective would it be with terrorist sympathizers in our ranks? NFP, to his credit, gave credit to Nawaz for running operations against LEJ etc back in the nineties and I think that is where Anatol Lieven came up with the idea of naming his book "Pakistan: A Hard Country".
