Bomb blasted at ‘Bukhari or Bukhara Restaurant’, 17 injuries reported so far.

LAHORE: At least one person was killed and scores more were injured when a bomb ripped through a packed restaurant in Old Anarkali area here on Saturday night, Geo News reported.

Police say a time-device was used to detonate the bomb planted outside a restaurant in Old Anarkali’s food street.

“Around 5-6 kilogramme explosive was used in the bomb hidden under the one of the dining tables at the restaurant”, local police officials said.

According to sources, at least 37 injured were rushed to Mayo Hospital from the blast site.

Hospital sources say at least ten of the injured are critical.

Old Anarkali is one of the most populous as well as most frequented areas of Lahore, which is famous for its variety of eateries being the oldest food street of the city.

Rescue teams and law enforcement officials have reached the blast site.

A number of neighboring shops and vehicles parked outside the unfortunate restaurant were also damaged in the blast.

Just spoken to my uncle (Mamoo) in Pakistan, they planned to visit old Anarkali along with family members but they are still in home and plan cancelled. Thanks God

I don't understand one thing, that when I visited purani anarkali, the both entrance points were controlled by 'private security guards' whom priority was not to allow enter are single male whom are not along with their family. Also, the hotel owners complained that there is a threat for bomb blast but sadly the security haven't done much to secure this area.

Sad news. :(

ye pehli dafa to nahin ke koi hukmuraan mulk se bahir gaya ho aur koi hadsa huwa ho. aaj subh main Sheikhupoora main bhi hadsa huwa tha. jab se ye log bahir gaye hain karachi main kitne log marre hain?

That doesn’t mean ke wo official trip beech main choR ke aajae. agar inka yun wapis aajana hi unke concern ko show kare ga to phir unhe forun ticket katwana chahiye.

for supporting NS and take part to finalise power related agreements as his province is badly suffering from the issue and it was he who did big claims to bring solution to the problem during election campaign.
