Well only mildly graphic -- but here's the sequence of stuff you have to absorb (SPOILERS AHEAD*)*
male on male gang rape, homosexual child abuse, incestuous relationship of the tawaif (suggested), frequent and pretty strong violence against women including thrashing, kicking, what not...., strangulation of a gay guy by his father, attempted murder of a baby by the father, relationship of the father with a prostitute to just produce babies....it's crazy. The chaos on screen is draining. Stuff of horror movies.

^^ Exactly my thoughts on leaving the theater. There were families with little kids in the audience -- morons! To be frank, Mansoor has gone overboard here. The mayhem on screen is unending and unnerving.

I think KKL had some graphic stuff too when Shaan is in prison. It sounds like w/ this one Shoaib Mansoor pushed the envelope a bit more.

Then why are the people coming out of the theaters saying that it is a family filum, on Geo news.
Maybe they recognize these problems as part of their society that are never talked about. Presented in a home production by a member of their own society, they might be easier to digest.
Even though KKL had some intense sequences they did not seem jarring the way they were presented.
Wonder what is the word on India and international releases.

Well, if the horrid scenes/stories were gross enough to move people, that’s the director’s mission accomplished. 
I’m in no mood of watching depressing stuff so I’m not going to watch it just yet. Pardon my ignorance but is this film purely Pakistani or created somewhere in bollywood with Pakistani actors?

I haven't seen the movie but it was pretty obvious from the trailer that the movie is going to have all the things metioned above. I will probably watch it when its on dvd or something. Surprised people would take thier kids to this one.

^BBQ .. it's entirely a pakistani film with pakistani actors and shot in Lahore. Shoaib mansoor is a brilliant director/writer/producer.
It's true I haven't heard good reviews aboout the film as yet but I'd still go watch it ..as long as it's generating some revenue to the Pak film industry and not on a pirated dvd or downloaded from the net.
obviously the concepts seem bold and parents should be careful about taking their children to watch this.

I am guessing that by being graphic on these issues he wanted to shock people out of their slumber, things that we see everyday but look away quickly.

Family film....definitely not. The problem here is that it's like a pastiche of calamities woven into a story -- it starts with the gay gang rape and ends with the murder of a baby and a prison hanging, Mansoor has got a very morbid film here, not recommended for an evening out at all.

^^ Honestly, they should call it A Pakistani Psycho. You have a mullah here, who beats his daughters and his wives, who sleeps with a tawaif, who strangles his not-so-male son, who offers bribes to the police, who basically does every wrong under the sun. By the end of it, I couldn't care less what he does next.
I doubt if any of this would amount to raising social awareness because all of it is very implausible. I've not known any woman who's undergone this here in Pak, also know a few gay guys who have had it good. Mansoor is a really, really bitter man.

Why depressing movies like 'KKL' & 'Bol' in already depressed environment. Can't Shoaib Mansoor ,who is famous for Fifty Fifty, Unkahi, Sunehre Din & Alpha Bravo Charlie, make light movies without creating gloomy atmosphere bcoz that is very well being done by our news channels.
