Ismaili and bohris are different I think,
Eid tou WesE Chand ko dekh ke hoti hai na? Jese I mean Zil haj ka Chand nazar aye tou uski 10th ko Eid, phir yeh koi old calendar kyu follow kar rahey hain? Chand ko kyu nahi?

are baba, Muqwee Bhai ne confirmed way meN nahiiN kahaa k vo Egyptian Calendar follow karte haiN...unhoN ne andaazan kahaa...he guessed it. ab Muqwee Bhai aayeN to ham un se kaheNge k vo apne colleague se poochheN k unhoN ne Thursday ko Eid kiuN manaayii...he is the one who manaao Eid on Thursday so he MUST know the reason. let's wait and find out!

Most probably because Bohris follow the Fatimid-era Egyptian calendar. That’s what a Bohri told me.

In this calendar, the lunar year has 354 days. Their odd-numbered months have 30 days and the even-numbered months have 29 days, except in a leap year when the 12th and final month has 30 days.

This is in contrast with other Muslim communities, which base the beginnings of specific Islamic months on sightings of the moon, with the naked eye, by religious authorities, which often result in differing opinions as to the occurrence of religiously significant dates, such as the start of Ramadan.

But I'm wondering how can someone celebrate Eid when they are not sure about moon? Chand nazar na aye to month start hone ka pata kese chale ga?

wallaho 'aalam bissawaab...maiN to bas itnaa jaantaa huN k hamaaraa mahine chaand ke nikalne [not dekhne] se shuruu hotaa hai aur aise hii Khatm hotaa hai...ab unkaa koii aur tareeqa hogaa jo hamaare tareeqe se alag hai...vo ise kaise justify karte haiN yeh unkaa fe'l hai aur vo Allah ko jawaab deh hoNge...mujhe yaa tumheN nahiiN. right? :)

Becuae Lahore is village and they live in metropolitan like Karachi :D
