Re: Blocking Someone

mm explaining to him how to find the MAC address vs. selecting a new password..

unknwonnn pai, change your wifi password to queerkidhoti, no one will join your network.

Re: Blocking Someone

^^ U mean password or SSID?

finding mac address deserves a new thread and another one to change default passwords.:hehe:

Re: Blocking Someone

Now from where will I get MAC address of a random laptop of a complete stranger ?

Re: Blocking Someone

I know that I can change the password but the thing is if I change the password, all people who are using this wifi will suffer as there is only one person I want to block hence no password change ....

Re: Blocking Someone

con the person in to giving u the mac address.

or
just add your puters in the "allow" list and any device not in the list will not get access.atleast thats how my router works. Not sure about the router u r using.

Re: Blocking Someone

How can I get my MAC address ?

Re: Blocking Someone

MAC Address is also known as Physical Address.
Open command prompt and type "ipconfig /all" and look for physical address under Wireless connection.

Re: Blocking Someone

Oh ok I got mine but there is ethernet MAC address, DSL MAC address & AP MAC … now which one is the actual MAC address :hehe:

Re: Blocking Someone

if you got yours....then why worry about the rest eh!

Re: Blocking Someone

No, I mean which one of these will be used for allowing ....

Re: Blocking Someone

Anything starting with physical address

Re: Blocking Someone

Your are welcome :)
remember there is a limit on how many devices you can add in the list.

Re: Blocking Someone

this could become a nice lively life1 thread if the person you are blocking is your MIL. is it?

Re: Blocking Someone

lolzz … no, unfortunately not :hehe:

Re: Blocking Someone

I want to ask one more question ... what if one of the people who have my wifi password block me & do the same thing as I am doing to one of them :( .... it didn't occur to me before :(

Re: Blocking Someone

Re: Blocking Someone

Aren’t they always same :konfused: ?

Re: Blocking Someone

If you are using PTCL, then by default they are. But you can change that from the settings.
