Blocked Nose

Help- it’s driving me nuts!

I had a bad throat and fever since two days now so I took nyquil. Within minutes, I was sneezing and now the blocked nose

Get that thing called vicks or put some mint in water and inhale. I dont know how to make it but it really helps

Shay, have plenty of orange juice. Sadly a cold just goes-away with time :( vicks inhalation works wonders as well..

Steam works wonders for the treament of a stuffy nose. Cover your head with a towel while taking the steam.

Afrin is the best for temporary relief. If you do not want to use a medication then try Netipot it is good too.

Shayyyyyyyyyyy, I know how you feel. This is what I went through all of last month.

After trying out everything under the sun, here’s what really helped:

Rinsing your nostrils with saline drops. Do it over the sink, 3-4 times a day by spraying the drops then running water through your nostrils then blowing out. Don’t forget to moisturize your nose (remember my thread on the peeling?).
Buy Tyelenol multi symptom cold tablets. They are awesome.

A slightly painful technique but it should be a permanent solution. Slide a very thin dynamite stick up your nostril and sniff a burning flame.

On another note, steam works wonders - best before going to bed at night :k:

Netipot is awesome...opened up my nose in a few tries...highly recommended.

Thanks to MO3, I was actually breathing through my nose again after over a month!

Aside from that, a humidifier in your room helps a TON. When you set it up, you can also add a few drops of Vicks in the water.

Thanks all.
My nose was not blocked when I woke up the next morning but since then I do have a full fledged cold getting worse by the hour along with fever and headache So far I have taken Nyquil, ibuprofen (Im allergic to everything else), joshanda, orange juice, hari mirch, water, everything :hinna: and my nose literally feels like it’s on fire

Hi Shay,

I know how u feel. I hate blocked nose too and cannot sleep. My solution is either i sleep with my mouth open lol or if i'm awake i dont lie down. for some reason my nose only gets blocked when i lie down.

but try steam. tat always works.

yea saline drops work temporarily.my nose gets blocked every night.use a humidifier.
