No, they are not alike. My point is about the extremely different attitudes within the Muslim world toward the same historical figures, even among close neighbors. This case is the most extreme difference you can find - the ultimate hero vs. the ultimate villain. I imagine there are some in the Muslim Middle Asia who sympathize with his cause, yet find his name very offensive. The world is a weird place.
