We at the DET try and get you the most correct and relevant information and at the same time present our (the United States military’s) point of view on a given situation. There should be no ambiguity in what we do and who we speak for. Having said that, the information provided earlier on the Boston Marathon attacks was current to the point. Yes, it is classified as ‘terrorist attack’ and yes innocent Americans were killed in these cowardly attacks. Boston Marathon is an International event, so there was increased security for the event. There was nothing odd about it. Yet, this unfortunate incident happened and innocent people died. There is an ongoing investigation with multiple agencies working together. There is no room for conspiracy theories here. Please rest assured that the cowards who planned and orchestrated these attacks will be brought to justice soon.

Didnt mean to hurt you, but still i think its pretty obvious why would extra police and K9units would be present at an International event in a country which has security threats.
just saw the pics of the two suspects fbi released (fbi.gov). suspect #2 face has been captured quite definitively I think, so would be very surprised if someone doesn't come fwd within a few hours of knowing him.
From what I can tell, they both have black hair. #2 has a sharp nose, fair complexion; can pass as a westerner or as a mid-eastern guy.
As received in email (below). Don’t know how a ‘Saudi national’ involved in it and why the cause demanding an apology from the New York Post for racial profiling is requested.
“We demand an apology from the New York Post for identifying a Saudi Arabian national as a suspect for the Boston Marathon bombing despite having no evidence. The New York Post based their conclusion that the wounded marathon runner was a suspect only on the fact that he was an Arab. The New York Post needs to apologize to the falsely accused and the broader Arab and Muslim community.”
Update this morning - one suspect already dead, the other being hunted down, one MIT campus police officer killed and one transit police officer seriously injured in shootouts with the suspects.
Update : Suspects are Muslims from Russia, living in the USA since the 1990s. Their uncle in Boston has already denounced them as losers and will be giving a media interview about them soon. We'll know a lot more about them by the end of the day.
