Re: Blast at Denmark Embassy Islamabad
Inna Lillahe wa Inna Elaihe RajaiouN. I am deeply saddened for the dead, may Allah forgive them.
Some loon kills at least 8 including a child **but **Denmark and Netherlands should work hard because some privately owned newspapers printed images that offended Muslims, are you off your rocker??
I know it might be hard for those who live in Muslim country's to understand that western governments do not run newspapers in their countries; they are privately run not state run as common in Muslim country's. If it were a state owned newspapers who ran the cartoons you would have a point, but its not. Of course their are many state run newspapers in the Muslim world which run insulting cartoons and articles against Jews, but for some reason this does not matter, where are the riots against those (lol yea right)?
Let's be perfectly clear, the freedom to offended any religion is ones right and I have no doubt that because of this cowardly action by the bomber in Pakistan today we will see many more offensive cartoons aimed against Islam. I would suggest muslims not read them if you are offended.
Ironic isn't it that some of the offensive cartoons portrayed Muslims as violent and the response by some Muslims have been violence.
Excuse me there are many living in Muslim countries who understand free speech as is shown by the vast majority of people condemning this barbarity unconditionally. So please do not use this event as an excuse to be all high and mighty. Right now is not the time.
Make fun of a billion people’s holy figure and that’s perfectly fine. But if you dare question the Holocaust, you get to go to jail. That’s Europe’s hypocritical version of free speech.
Another example of Europe’s free speech:
Spain royal sex cartoonists fined
**Two Spanish cartoonists have been found guilty of offending the royal family and fined 3,000 euros (£2,100) each. **
Their cartoon, on the front page of the weekly satirical magazine El Jueves in July, depicted Crown Prince Felipe and his wife Letizia having sex.
The edition was pulled from newsstands across the country by police.
A judge said that El Jueves’ Guillermo Torres and Manel Fontdevila “had vilified the crown in the most gratuitous and unnecessary way”.
Torres had drawn the cartoon and Fontdevila, the paper’s cartoons editor, wrote the caption.
“Do you realise,” says the crown prince in the cartoon, “if you get pregnant this will be the closest thing I’ve done to work in my whole life.”
That referred to an announcement by the government that it would pay Spanish couples for each new baby they had.
Several months before, in April, the royal couple had their second baby, Sofia.
**‘Gratuitous and unnecessary’ **
Prince Felipe and Letizia were portrayed in an “explicit sexual posture” prosecutors said.
Slandering or defaming the Spanish royal family can carry a sentence of up to two years in prison.
During their short trial, the defendants said they had done nothing wrong and had depicted members of the royal family in cartoons many times before.
Trade unions representing journalists have accused the Spanish judiciary of impeding freedom of speech, says the BBC’s Steve Kingstone in Madrid.
Prince Felipe, 39, married Letizia Ortiz, 34, a former television news presenter, in May 2004. They have two girls: Leonor, born in October 2005 and Sofia, born in April 2007.
Those who actually deserve to die? Is this what Islam teaches you? Who should live and who should be killed?
Yes, Islam has rules about killing people. How come you don't know that by now?
Does America have rules about killing people too? Cluster bombs and depleted uranium? I mean George W.'s feelings were hurt by Saddam, and all of sudden we have a million dead Iraqis.

Yes, it seems that the only thing the Islamic extremist take from Islam is what they can use to justify killing and oppressing people. For some reason that doesn't outwardly upset the Muslim world as much as some cartoons do.
The majority of Iraqis killed in the last 5 years have been at the hands of Muslims.
Re: Blast at Denmark Embassy Islamabad
Norwegian Embassy has been closed down temporarily.
For some reason that doesn't outwardly upset the Muslim world as much as some cartoons do.
Why should it upset the Muslim world? Americans aren't upset that their soldiers are killing Iraqi kids everyday.
The majority of Iraqis killed in the last 5 years have been at the hands of Muslims.
The result of US occupation which actually facilitates such killings.
Re: Blast at Denmark Embassy Islamabad
Frredom of expression? What about harrassment? Is that allowed in the west? You are too confused UTD. Just because you do not understand what those cartoons meant to Muslims, you bring in fredom of expression, which you have no concept of. Let Danish News papers publish Ahmedinejad's articles on haulocast, which will probably have more readership with-in denmark than the cartoons had. It is not like people all over denmark were crying for those cartoons to be printed again. It was an act of pure provocation, and when we gave you our "loud expression" you come here crying foul.

Re: Blast at Denmark Embassy Islamabad
May the responsible party be punished and may Allah swt help the victims and affected families. Whether or not Mush was the target, bombing of innocents is wrong and must be condemned, neither its Islam or any religion.... so anyone on Islam's back should get off their drunk horses and anyone criticizing Danish cartoon's need to check their behavior as well. Cartoon's can't be "answered" by bombings/killings.

You may burn the flag, you can mock public figures, and you can insult religions. If a newspaper in the U.S. publishes a cartoon of a religions figure in a rude manner they have the right to do so as they are protected by the constitution. Even if government officials or the police wanted to do something they would have no power to do so.
You don't have to like, respect, or agree with the cartoons and you may even protest them as that is your right. But to support terror or be indifferent about terror occurring because someone was insulting to god? That, I would think is more insulting to god than the cartoon insulting him.
You may insult my family but I have no right to take your life for doing so, we are intelligent creatures who can reason, not primitive animals.
Re: Blast at Denmark Embassy Islamabad
Extremely sad to hear this. :(
May the victims and their families have the patience and strength to go through this tough time.
While the cartoons were an unnecessary act of provocation, such violent acts only show Islam and muslims in poor light. While calling for a ban on Danish products and peaceful protests are appropriate responses, such killings of innocent people are clearly abhorrent and condemnable acts. Our religion means peace and preaches tolerance and forgiveness. When The Holy Prophet pbuh was abused by the people of Ta'aif, he did not go asking his followers to take revenge by stoning those misguided people. There in is a lesson for all of us muslims. It is a real shame that the extremists amongst us only know violence as a way to respond or atleast that is how it comes across to everyone. May Allah bless all those killed (I believe most of them were fellow Pakistanis) in today's atrocity and help their families thru this testing time - Ameen

LOL. UTD, so now you are layinjg down the rules of disrespect? Dont you even see how ridiculous you sound. The problem is you are trying to impose your sense of righteousness on me after disrespecting me. Why your rules, why not my rules that I will go out and kill the blasphemer or send them and their supporters a strong message that I see fit? If you dont like my response which is going to be much stronger than yours, dont provocate me.
Oncethe line is crossed, there are no rules. Now dont claim people didnt know where the line was. We made sure the last time that everyone knew.

I appreciate your sentiments, and know where you are coming from, but why do we muslims have to be tolerant everytime? What have we done that we owe these bloody hypocrite societies tolerence for every shameful act they perform? hain? bohat ghussa hai mujhay aaj.
Re: Blast at Denmark Embassy Islamabad
Ashtray, if you think violence and threats will cause people not to insult Islam you are strongly mistaken, it will have the opposite effect. Do you actually expect threats and terror to gain Islam respect?
Supporting terrorists acts because someone used what to you were insulting images to say Islam is violent makes you a fool and allows the cartoonist to say, "I told you so", you are being played.
Re: Blast at Denmark Embassy Islamabad
UTD, what gave you the idea that I am talking about Islam's respect? It is my dignity and my respect. I have been on GS long enough for older members to realise that I am not a supporter of violence, till today.
What good has restraint shown me up till now? 95% of the Muslim world condemned the 9/11 bombings. Everyone knew it is not an act of Muslims as a whole but a bunch, a very small miniscule bunch, of Muslims, whose views were radically different from the masses. What happened? In your rage and your desire to make an example of somebody you dropped more bombs on the poorest nation of world and killed hundreds of thousands of innocent men, women and children.
Dont tell me America did not have the technology to target Al-qaeda if it wanted to, just like it is in waziristan and Afhanistan today. It would probably have been more successful than it is today, because the Al-qaeda leaders have all gone under-ground and your success ratio is one third tier Alqaeda man a quarter.
When you are angry, you show rage, why then change the rules for me?
Like I said, when it comes to dignity every man will stand up and fight, and that is what your one sided rules have brought us to.
PS: When I say you, I mean it in a broader sense and not specifically you.
