Did anyone else notice, how poorly our soldiers were equipped? No body armor, no helmets etc. Heck British riots police is better equipped than them.

^ so who is responsible for providing security to these assets? you or me? if the attacks are still taking place it means the authorities responsible are not working efficiently, and its not the first time thats happened in Pakistan, similar things have been done over and over again. Why are these attacks only happening in Pakistan (these kind of attacks have not happened even in Afghanistan and Iraq)...
If we keep burying our heads in the sand after every attack in the guise of rallying behind the army, these things will keep on happening! there are failures from our army which need to be checked and rectified if we want to remove the threat permanently. a one off thing can be forgiven but a thing thats being repeated over and over cant be left lightly.
I wudnt be surprised if we found that these terrorists had a lot of support from inside. I define secuirty lapse as a occasion where things went wrong for a short time. However this is the safety culture that is wrong in Pakistan. We had a issue where 8-10 kids ( ages 12 and under ) managed to appear before the Air force runway to see planes. The Pilot saw them waving hands to him and called security. Kids claimed that they saw protection wire was cut and we went in to see planes.
Army is no different and NAVY well we just saw, these guys not only even manage to get into base but also managed to escape after there tasks were completed. I dunt get the purpose of making security gates and having hiring security guards if anyone can enter through ur back yard.
Also we shldnt only criticize this system but also try to provide a solution.
1 From GHQ: we learned that just one security gate and guard on the gate isnt enough.We need multiple gates. First one can be regular which is always open and only authorized vehicles shld be allowed inside. 2nd gate shld be electric gate, a guard needs to push a button to open the gate and gate closes after 40 secs or so which means gate is closed for the most part. There shld a good distance of 1/2 km between both gates.
- From Mehran: Walls shld be solid and high, protection wire shld be on all walls. We need to Train some dogs and security guards who will just walk around and observe. Security Cameras shld monitor every inch of these facilities.

Well if pakistani people demand answers from the government then I don't think this breach of truth would occur so many times. It's the pakistani people that let the goverment play with them.. it's a joke. Yes military is responsible but like I said you and I were not there trying to fight the enemies it was our military men being killed and hurt while we were sitting at home or sleeping saying all sorts of crap about our military members. If we truly want to change our country we need to take action and demand our country be treated with respect not what the politicians have made it to be. If it was easy to go and fight and die for your country we would see our corrupt politicians doing something good for once!

And other than just concentrating on our defence, any word on taking the war to the enemy camp? I heard someone said that offence is the best defence.

The evil-doers who have mastered the art of using suicide attackers/bombers are very smart.
They know they will never be traced back if the terrorist will blow himself up rather than be captured alive.
How can security services secure the country from this onslaught if they can't trace the masterminds and terrorist handlers ?

Let me ask a question to all those defeatist mind people, would you prefer that the US marines with “great respect” for human rights and humanity come to your homes, drag your sisters out on the street and shoot randomly at your kids just for fun?
What kind of people you are really? You live in a free country (if you actually are in Pakistan), this alone is a reason to say thousand prayers every day and thank God.
Or you would rather like to shift to Iraq or Libya or Afghanistan instead to get the first hand experience of the great human respect Rambo style?
Instead of worshiping US of A, take few lessons in courage and dignity.
And about our military:
They are a military of a third world country with very limited resources compare to the evil roaming around the world equipped with the most modern technology available to human kind today. They are putting their lives on line to defend their country courageously (Unlike many keyboard warriors sitting somewhere in their cozy rooms and hitting the keys to put all the venom against our Jawans).
So I say, yeah we got a bloody nose, but I am fully confident that our Jawans will rather give their lives protecting our freedom than let us live in bonded slavery.
Long live Pakistan, long live our brothers and sisters who are putting their lives on line. We will NEVER EVER give up our motherland without a fight till the very last drop of blood. This is our message to our enemies disguised as partners…

How do you know this??? Probably Pakistanis know better what Talibans are capable of...seems like you have trained them personally..... If they can attack GHQ whats the big deal in this....They have simply crossed the wall, cut the barbed wires. They were armed with RPG's and managed to destroy airplane standing on tarmac. An RPG is good enough to cause damage to an airplane.
And this is not the first time, they have attacked Navy.

I think Pakistan should seriously focus on defence and security after this attack. Pakistan should increase its defence budget so that these attacks dont happen in future.

This is the latest in the long list of Taliban crimes against the sovereign nation of Pakistan. Did we not just witness the murder of over 90 Frontier Corps Cadets? Taliban have been wreaking havoc on the innocent people of Pakistan and Afghanistan for over a decade. Have we not witnessed them attacking people from all walks of life in their attempt to instill fear and destabilize the nation. Have we not witnessed them attack schools, shopping centers and even mosques and shrines? And now we see them attacking the largest naval base in Pakistan. How can these Taliban terrorists who keep attacking Pakistanis and Pakistani Assets ever be friends of this great nation? They are nothing but insurgents hell bent on destroying the peace loving nation of Pakistan.
Pakistanis who have any soft corners for these murderers should realize that they are the real enemy who will not stop until they achieve the goal of revenge against Pakistan; and for whom? A terrorist who killed more Muslims then non-Muslims and who was not even a Pakistani. We have said before and we say again that peace in the region can only be achieved when the Taliban & Al-Qaeda terrorists along with their leadership is destroyed. It is time for the Pakistanis who support these terrorists to realize that they are the true enemy and until they are destroyed these attacks will not stop! We have the resolve along with Pakistani forces to focus on and to destroy Taliban and Al-Qaeda enemy and make this world a better and more peaceful place for our future generations.

Surprising you havent mentioned that Pak needs to do more, so what if they have lost 35000 innocent people due to America’s WOT, but world should remember that America lost 3000 and they are more important than the 35,000 Pakistan lost. These two attacks are a direct result of your action in Abbottabad.
