Black

So is black really such a “forbidden” color to wear at a wedding, whether as bride or guest? Have any brides ever worn black? Would you wear black? I mean those days of colors having some meaning, like white = purity, virginity, red = passion/fertility etc etc (i’m not sure exactly what, i’m jus tmaking these off the top of my head, if i’m wrong someone correct me) seem pretty gone now, anything goes… so anyone gonna post black bridal stuff?

Re: Black

ooooooooooooo iwould love to wear black on my wedding.....

Re: Black

I wore a black sari to a wedding. Does that count?

It had red and gold kaam on it so it wasn't totally black. But I think a really dark dark maroon is a good alternative :)

Re: Black

i think women don't wear black on their weddings because black is associated with funerals and you don't want to think about death on your wedding day.

Re: Black

But i thot those days of associating colors with feelings n traditions and stuff is gone no? I think black can be very festive :D I guess ill hav to design some black/grey stuff

Re: Black

Black dress Bride... doesn't sound so good. Most of the pople love black, i think when some is wearing black it look nice if it looks real simple,it glows out even more. Pakistani wedding is full of colors and we tend to wear alot of jewlery and makeup and bright colors like red, orange, or shocking pink makes bride look even more brighter by these combination. Thats y i think wearing black in most simplist way look more beautiful as wearing red in luxuarist way.

Re: Black

I'm thinking of wearing black on Eid. Is it taboo??

Re: Black

It is too monochromatic of a color. I associate weddings with lots of colors. Yellow/green on mehndi, reds/pinks on nikah, and something colorful on the valima. I don't even like it when brides choose off white or white for their valima outfit because it looks too dull to me.

^Rukhsaar
