Event Horizon is the theoretical boundary of black hole. Once you hit that boundary, there is no escaping. Technically, there is no such thing as “inside” of blackhole. You are either on this side of Event Horizon or on that side.

Watching from distance means in terms of Kilometers. Things (curvature of space-time because of gravitational force) change so rapidly as you approach black hole that you dont need to be too far away from the hole (just far enough not to get caught in its trap) to observe the time standing still. That means that if you are watching someone falling into blackhole, and once that person hits the event horizon, you will see him hanging there till eternity. He is frozen in time from your perspective.

Thanks TLK. Scary stuff. So what is actually happening. Suppose I am 20 km away from a black hole. At t =0 I see person a going in. So that person frozen from my perspective. But that person at event horizon. So for him time keeps moving. And he gets sucked in.what then. Does he cease to exis10 min later person b at event horizon.do I see person b also frozen. Or as time has Ettie still I only see person A?
