In Islam, given the choice, huqooq-ul-ibaad always are given priority over huqooq Allah. Huqooq Allah can be postponed, as Allah SWT is not dependent on anyone, but huqooq-ul-ibaad cant be put off.

Ashfaq Ahmed, in his book ‘zaavia’, very aptly said something similar. If you are going to the masjid to answer the call of prayer, and on the way, you find a cyclist who has fallen down and hurt himself, you cannot say “hang in there buddy while I go and finish my prayers. I will return to help you soon after”.

You can go with the tableeghi jamaat on long trips only if your family is assured to be taken care of. You cannot just say “Allah kay hawalay” and leave.

Yes I heard Ashfaq Ahmed saying ’ Farz ki qaza hai, Khidmat ki qaza nahin’. I also remember that even Prophet not allowed some people to take part in Jehad (which was need of the time), because they had dependent parents, etc at home.
