Just so you guys know, I made biryani following that same recipe by Shab and it turned out amazingly aromatic and such brilliant taste .. I think I am always going to make biryani via this recipe from now on ! bye bye Shan masala’s !
Thank you all for the brilliant participation, In my opinion each of you are mashallah very very talented and blessed are your families for having you too :hugz:
Automne, I hope shab will come and tell us the quantity herself ..
Waise I used all those spices in three cups of rice in the following quantity of the whole spices :
One large flower Javetri or Mace
8 Cardamom pods
2 tsp saunf
one tsp powdered nutmeg
Half inch of cinammon stick
two flowers of Star Anise
good luck .. most certainly this is the bestest ever recipe I have ever made .. Please note, i have tried about 18 different recipes and never found that perfect balance of spice and aroma of biryani … Most certainly Shab-e-hijr deserves applause for sharing such an awesome awesome recipe with us
I wanna try this recipe too. Thanks CB for posting the quantities of each stuff.A quick question,do you add whole garam masala or anything to the rice when boiling them..?/..(I see a star anise in the pot of boiling rice ,so I ask).
I do not have mace.Rest I have it all,I guess it should be fine to get that aroma...??

We add the khushboo waala masala to the rice while it's boiling - it helps to flavour the rice.
