^ how is it embarassing? imho, your mother gave birth to you pretty much the same way, and your husband impregnated you. they’re facts of life- can’t be immature about them in labor & delivery!
i guess it really depends on how close they are, but even then, no… because my hubby would never be uncomfortable about it or say no to me having mum there because he knows i would want her there and really, its all about me (delivering the baby) at that point, isn’t it? i, myself, have told her she can come in after the epidural when i’m calmer hopefully and not liable to talk trash (which hubby will put up with but might offend her!), and i would like her to leave when it comes time to push, because welcoming our baby, esp. our first, should really be just about us.
plus, practically speaking, if its a long labor, hubby will need some relief to walk around, go get something to eat, get a breather, etc. and i’d rather mum be there with me than just the nurse.
mind you, i haven’t had this (stubborn) baby yet so who knows, watch for my birth story! it could change
SGC…shouldn’t baby be here by now? Maybe baby is waiting to come on my birthday which is on Tuesday? Sounds like you’ve made up ur mind about having the epidural?? Hahaha!
