birthday gifts from spouse?

@flawedsoul

2 months in advance? Hubby’s bday was last week and we were in transit for our vacation to Mauritius. I had no gift for him and couldn’t even take him out for dinner. 4 days after his bday, we went parasailing..and that was my gift to him. My bday comes 4 days after our wedding anniversary. So I don’t expect him to get me 2 gifts. In fact I think we’ll take a week long vacation and that’ll cover both. Last year, my bday was 4 days after the wedding, he surprised me with a little trip to Scotland on my bday..which was also a lil honeymoon for us.

I don’t like giving shirts etc as gifts because they don’t feel very meaningful to me. Last year, when we were engaged, I didn’t buy anything. I made him a card and wrote a little poem. So yeah, we don’t spend months trying to shop for gifts. It’ll mostly be spontaneous stuff or travels or I prefer fun activities like we did parasailing.

Well, flawedsoul, if you can go to Scotland and Mauritius for your birthdays and anniversaries, ofcourse you’d find a shirt boring
