Birth Control Pills and Condoms...

Re: Birth Control Pills and Condoms...

Dude,

If this is what you think and present as an argument in support of this thread, there are so many other issues surrounding contraception, its use and sex which you seem to igonre (Just because you have been exposed to these things at an earlier stage yet don't have an ability to derive conclusions or think over it in different context). Just talking about it, without any reasoning, is not gonna lead you anywhere. It seems to me more like unresolved conflicts/questions in the back of your mind which you seem to figure out in this manner. Other than that, your subject matter and the content of your post does not convey any mature theme to me.

Just my thoughts, no offense intended....

Re: Birth Control Pills and Condoms...

As far as I'm concerned, matters dealing with contraceptives (and their potential side effects) should only be researched when a female (or male) is sexually active. And this activity should only be indulged in once the person is married.

In depth research prior to marriage is premature and should not be condoned.

Re: Birth Control Pills and Condoms...

^Unless of course you choose to be sexually active.

Re: Birth Control Pills and Condoms…

I think you’re reading too much into it.

Re: Birth Control Pills and Condoms...

Lol, how else can someone define for you, Anil, that in today's world, contraceptives do not equal sexually active anymore. I dont think you are paying attention to the responses here. In today's age, the pill is used to cure other female ailments as well, such as acne, irregular periods etc. And to make an informed decision on whether to use them for such purposes or not, i think one should be aware of how it affects one's body.

Like Sahar said, you are reading too much into this. Plus quit judging others so much, it will make life easier for you :)

Re: Birth Control Pills and Condoms...

Why hasn't this thread been closed yet?

Re: Birth Control Pills and Condoms...

Hmm, birth control pills can possibly alter the body chemistry so that it will be more difficult for you to conceive later. I personally know a couple whom this happened to. But it doesnt happen with everyone.

It just depends. And believe me, studies are very umm...unpredictable. They dont really give the general public all the facts. You'd be surprised at how off statistics and what not can really be.

We had to do this thing about the study of this drug to detect patients with HIV. The average person interpreting the drugs marketing campaign would have thought its a high success rate, but when you study the epidemiology, you find that that success is defined differently by the company and say, you. You need to do your research with these drugs, because a small snippet or advert is not telling you what you really need to know. Fine print is very important. The truth is out there, and if you dig deep enough you can find it.

Re: Birth Control Pills and Condoms...

Ira,
You seem to have some misunderstanding about the word contraceptives.
Acting as a birth control pill is just one use and the term contraceptives is a broader term used to define anything that can stop conception. So to say, contraceptives do not equal sexual activity anymore is technically incorrect.

Yes, female hormones are used for other purposes but the term contraceptives in not used for them. This is one different situation. Otherwise, I agree with Anil Khan's response.........

Re: Birth Control Pills and Condoms…

I can tell by your knowledge than you’re neither a doctor nor a pharmacist

if you wanna prove me wrong…then prove that ur a doctor. for example if in UK, you can always give your GMC number

p.s. the above was a joke…dont get too serious about it

Re: Birth Control Pills and Condoms...

the information which I have is from my university lecture notes and if I am to pass my exams, I HAVE to know this stuff.....and so do alot of people in other professions within healthcare.
what you just said above seemed very narrow minded.

female doctors would have to learn the information which was given in this thread.....and im sure when u get married, you'd be the type who wants his wife to get checked out by female doctors only.....and then you come here talking badly about them same females?. shame on you.

Re: Birth Control Pills and Condoms...

should it only be researched AFTER you have gotten your wife pregnant on the wedding night? and then be like "oh no, its too late"

you say it should be researched when a person is "sexually active"....does that mean after you've had about 10 kids non-stop?

It seems to me that you have this attitude that sex is only for the purpose of procreation and that anyone that seeks to do the act simply for the sake of love or pleasure even if its with their spuse is dirty or immoral...jeez if Allah allows it then who the hell are you to disallow it...

[/quote]

i never said u can,t have it for pleasure or for sake of love with ur wife .everybody knows it is good for thier marriage/health :o ....do whatever u want ...u r married but u do not discuss it with others so simple is that and the fact a lot of ppl here go so deep in details makes it even harder to have a decent debate.:o .......

@sahar02

just wanted to take some confusion away cuz nbm suggested that i m somehow against sex for pleasure......which i m not.....i just find that its immoral, wrong and it shows lack of sharem hiya at part of ppl who discuss it openly........

Re: Birth Control Pills and Condoms...

^ If you find it inappropriate why do you keep returning to this thread?

Re: Birth Control Pills and Condoms...

Lahore981, yes i misused the word contraceptives. It should be actually the pill that i am talking about. I stand corrected, thanks for pointing out.

Re: Birth Control Pills and Condoms...

^ You'r welcome Ira.

I guess, I have to repeat this for you. If you are a pharmacist, you don't speak like one. You have no right to insult anyone.
Anil raises real good point. Don't you worry about when who gets who's wife pregnant. Someone's wife is not your problem. Someone wants her wife to be examined by a male or female is not your problem......What they do together is not your problem. You speak when they ask something......You have the knowledge of effects, side effects, pharmakokinetics, pharmacodynamics, dose response etc. You are not to insult any man like this. I ask you, just a degree in pharmacy, where do you stand as far as the "reasoning" is concerned? You cannot apply your kowledge to the human behavior. You cannot understand it's implications and ramifications in society's social dynamics? How this thing is in line with religion? When is it right, when is it wrong? What do you know?

Spoiled thinking............ You seem to be too liberal and unaware of some real hard facts.....

Re: Birth Control Pills and Condoms...

clinically, people (women as well as men) have only 20 or so reproductive years in their lives (20-40), when the serious minded can have reasonable number of kids.
abstinence is the most important and effective thing to do.
if imagined priority is pleasure to be had, then at ur own risk.

another note.

do not abuse what God gave you. your body is your temple. respect it.

Re: Birth Control Pills and Condoms…

:hugs: you know how it works!!
the more side effects and the more you go to doctor and take other medicines! good for business!
so doctors NEVER warn about side effects, and even denies them when they happen:D!
no i hate pills, and they all go to trash bin, and i’m in far better health than when i used to go to doctors and take 5 medicines each day for various “side effects”…

pill is nasty: headache, weightgain, especially water, decreased libido, increased cholesterol and other fat blood levels, and blood clots in legs…
the only birth control pilll that has almost no side effects is the less concetrated one BUT has a BIG problem: a lot a ladies fall pregnant on it:D, my aunt is a baby care nurse and she knows lots of the babies she has at home were made on pill:halo:…cause pregnancy risk with those less concentrated pills is something like 10 or 15%

Re: Birth Control Pills and Condoms…

I do not need to prove anything to you dear coz i dont play cheap shots.
