Bina Khan experiences.

Re: Bina Khan experiences.

I dont do a lot of makeup, actually no make up but I do want to look a bit dressed up on my wedding. I think the brown makeup kinda dulls down the complexion and I want to look fresh not brownish.. :S

Re: Bina Khan experiences.

Well, I'm one of the no-make-up-ever girls too, and I am very happy with how she made me look. You could see my face, my own features that had been enhanced. And she did not put any brown make-up on me, because I was wearing very vibrant colors. I think it's a risk with every make-up artist waisay, but I definitely felt at ease with her... despite my initial fears about her attitude.

Re: Bina Khan experiences.

yeah you are right, Its a risk that we all take on our wedding days hehehe. With every make up artist, its like man! Wuts going to happen lolz. Thanks hunn

Re: Bina Khan experiences.

they should do trial here too! i read something that said BK likes to be spontaneous so she doesnt like meeting her brides before they come in for their make-up..and i thought to myself, hell no, you are so NOT trying out your spontaneity on me :D but having said that she usually does an excellent job, maybe you could tell her you dont want brown..

Re: Bina Khan experiences.

CAN I SEE UR PICS :@:

Re: Bina Khan experiences.

Glambition, you're absolutely right about the trials! But unfortunately no-one is willing to do it these days... in fact when I was investigating all the different options, I asked Aliya Tipu if they could do a trial and was told that they would, but I would have to pay full price for it, that is 25k. Ridiculous.

Farahsha, sorry, but my husband and I are both uncomfortable with my pictures being put up online!

Re: Bina Khan experiences.

NO PROBLEM .. EVEN I DONT PUT MY PICS :hula: … I WANTED TO SEE UR PICS SO THAT I COULD DECIDE WHICH1 I SHOULD BOOK CISTRE OR BINA KHAN… :hmmm:

Re: Bina Khan experiences.

Haha, I actually went to both of them! Bina Khan for the shaadi, and Cistre for my valima. I can tell you that while everyone was complimenting my valima make-up (that is Cistre) and saying it looked really natural, I wasn't thrilled with the base. Because when the pictures came out, it ended up looking a little splotchy. Even when she was putting the base on, I noticed there were certain parts of my skin that she missed/ignored and you could see how that created a splotchy effect in the pictures. But in person, my sisters and everyone actually told me that it looked great, and my best friend especially loved the eye make-up.

Hope this helps! :)

Re: Bina Khan experiences.

makeup is looking nice and soft ^

Re: Bina Khan experiences.

Nice. It suits her and the hair is much better. I think she is much better at doing duputta-less styles. I really don’t like the styles she does for duputta settings.

Re: Bina Khan experiences.

Seeing as many of you think Bina Khan's got a bit of an attitude, I'd like to know how she would respond to me bringing in my own foundation? I know some people take theirs but I'm not sure how she would take this intrusion and I definitely wouldn't wanna do anything to piss her off.
Secondly, does she ask brides what they want? For example, would I be able to tell her I absolutely do not want red lips. Will she be okay with it?

Re: Bina Khan experiences.

^ i don't know about foundation but i remember at cistre ,she doesnt mind if you bring your own sponge, if its a good one. if she doesnt like it, she will let you know on why she woun't use it and her foundation collection is pretty good, all the brides looked DIFFERENT, unlike sabs where everybride looks exactly like the next.lol

cistre ALL the wayyyy

Re: Bina Khan experiences.

^ Cistre did not let me use my own foundation, and I think there was good reason.

Re: Bina Khan experiences.

why would you bring your own foundation? i'm just curious... you're hiring a professional to do your makeup and i'm sure she doesn't use second hand equipment or materials. i would guess her professional quality products are probably superior to what you have at home given the type of makeup she'll be doing, i.e. bridal and not everyday and the kind that will hold up under the videographers lights and the photographers lens. do you have specific skin allergies or issues? i'm sure you can address these with her prior to booking. that is also why trials are so important, imho.

i also think she would respect your decision re: dark lips or dark eyes or what have you. if she didn't agree, i'm sure she'd let you know why she thought what she was suggesting was the better option but in the end, she wouldn't force a look on you that you hated.

my cousin had bina khan for her baraat makeup and sabs for valima and she regrets hiring sabs for anything. she loved her bina khan experience and thought the makeup was excellent but sabs was a nightmare from start to end and you can tell the difference in her pictures. sabs makeup was caked on and unblended and pretty horrific, whereas bina khan did a very glam but natural look for her- she looked like herself but better.

Re: Bina Khan experiences.

I've been to bina khan's salon otherwise and the service and experience was impeccable.. i've seen pictures of brides which is why i decided to book her for my july wedding.. the only reason i'd have wanted to take my own foundation is because MUA seem to have a limited amount of shades and i'd want one that strictly matches my skin tone.. but i guess that's a thing of the past and MUA have grown and seem to carry a variety of foundation shades.. i just thought it'd be an option to ensure i dont end up looking white or cakey..
unfortunately i've also had a terrible experience at sabs for my engagement.. they were late.. they were assembly line.. they were rude and they totally absolutely caked me up.. and they had a TERRIBLE blow dry which made me look like a frizzy mess in humid karachi weather.. i guess i'm just a little paranoid after that experience..
but it helps to know good things about bina khan since i've already paid in advance and i havent found any other MUA that has suited my style

Re: Bina Khan experiences.

How much does she charge for bridal makeup with and without services?
