Bina Khan experiences.

@ Iyla, that is the experience of my nightmares. :teary3: I really hope my experience is much better, and non-stressful and just beautiful in general!

I think it's too late to get an appointment for one, and I've paid the advance already too. :(

Re: Bina Khan experiences.

Don't worry, I'm sure it will still turn out great, just be prepared beforehand when you go. Print out some pictures of her brides with looks that you would want her to duplicate exactly. Tell her that's exactly what you want. If you can, do a consultation with her beforehand. Be clear about what you want, and what you don't want. Aliya Tipu has done some great makeup in the past and some horrendous makeup. I think what made mine turn out well (at least I loved it!) was that I just took a rip-out from a magazine done by her and asked her to do the exact same and with what colors. She tried to sneak some weird pink glitter on my browbone and I flatly refused. Thank God for that, I would have looked like the Bride of Frankenstein with it! I think it's better to guide a MUA to be on the safe side, no matter how much of an "expert" they may be.

Re: Bina Khan experiences.

I already booked Bina Khan for my mehndi and paid in advance as well.. I really hope she is respectful and is not rude. I can't stand people who are rude and disrespectful. Oh boy... Hoping for the best!

Let's not worry too much. Insha'Allah, everything will go well!

Re: Bina Khan experiences.

^Ditto. Good luck to you! And congratulations on the wedding! :) Hope you come back with a good review of Bina! ;)

@giggles: Thank you for the advice, I think I will definitely try that. :)

Re: Bina Khan experiences.

@stardust and greysanatomyfan - do please update us and tell us how it went! It would help us out a lot!

Re: Bina Khan experiences.

^Will do, IA. Everyone, as frivolous as this sounds, please pray my experience with her is perfect! :D

Re: Bina Khan experiences.

^Are you going to get your pre-wedding services from Bina Khan Salon?

Nope, I think paying 8k just for those is a bit much....

Re: Bina Khan experiences.

^Do you know which services were included in the package? She always advertises yummy packages.

Re: Bina Khan experiences.

^ I did ask when I was booking my appointment, and from what I understood, it was pretty basic. For the extra-special products, you obviously had to pay more...

@giggles: I will absolutely give an update and review after my experience! No worries, it will be done:-)

@greysanatomyfan: Good luck to you as well!! I hope you come back with an awesome review from her as well!

@giggles & greysanatomyfan: Congratulations on the wedding you two! Best of luck and May Allah (swt) bless you both with lots of happiness, love, trust and great health! Ameen.

As for the packages, from what I know...
When you want mehndi make-up, its the engagement package which includes the basic, hair, dupatta setting, and basic color nail polish. The same goes for the wedding package. For the basic party, I believe it is just hair and make-up. Anything else that you want to do as in manicure, pedi, facial or what not... It is all at an extra cost--This is the first time I spoke to her. The second time I called her, I only asked about my mehndi make-up. So I don't know if she has changed anything about her services. I do know she has these little promotions that happen, like if you come in for a haircut, you get a manicure for free or something. You will have to call her and see what she offers.

:-)

Re: Bina Khan experiences.

Well, something good just happened. I've been trying to get an appointment at Bina Khan's since last week for some random maintenance. ;) The receptionist was horrible, and quite rude. So I called today and just straight off asked for Alia Polad, the manager. She was extreeeemmmeeelllyyy nice, and apologized, and immediately gave me an appointment. And Bina Khan herself apologized too. So if this is anything to judge by, hopefully my experience in June will be nice too. Choti choti hopes. :P But in any case, I thought I should share my experience, since it shows a nicer, less arrogant side of the salon, that what I'd imagined I might have to face.

Re: Bina Khan experiences.

^T do wish all those good reviews on the FB group are true for your sake. :biggthumb: As I said earlier, my colleague was really satisfied with the work and praises Bina Khan and her attitude constantly.

Re: Bina Khan experiences.

^Yay. More hope. :)

^ I second that! Woo hoo! :-)

Bina said that its Rs.25,000 for make-up, hair, nail paint, jewellery and dupatta setting and if you book a bridal then you automatically *get a discount on any services that you book. *

Do you think it would still be 8k with the discount?

Re: Bina Khan experiences.

Yeah, I just saw that on her page. I think the cost will probably go down, so I might get my mani/pedi done from there... and maybe someother fancy stuff. :D

Re: Bina Khan experiences.

^Yup, love the fancy stuff that she offers. :D

Would you get mehndi from her salon as well?
