Bin Laden: Surprising to see people really buying into this stuff

Re: Bin Laden: Surprising to see people really buying into this stuff

ISI confirms that circumstances of the story. Since the story of Osama’s death makes ISI look at best incompetent and at worst in league with the world’s most wanted man, ISI has nothing to gain from sticking to it if it is not true.

One is left with the unavoidable conclusion that Osama is dead, shot dead in Abottabad.

A young daughter of Osama bin Laden, now in custody with a Yemeni wife of the Al-Qaeda leader, saw her father shot dead, a Pakistani intelligence official said Wednesday.

The official from the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) agency said up to 12 women and children who survived the US raid on their villa were now in custody.

The child, reported to be 12 years old, “was the one who confirmed to us that Osama was dead and shot and taken away,” said the official.

Four bodies were retrieved from the daring covert attack, including one of bin Laden’s sons, said the official.

Up to three women and nine children, including the young Yemeni woman who was shot in the leg and a daughter of the Saudi-born mastermind, are in detention, he said.

Intelligence officials said the group were being interrogated.

“There are a lot of questions we want to ask them,” another official said.

Re: Bin Laden: Surprising to see people really buying into this stuff

Achterbahn - get ready to be called everything on this planet because you have used your basic citizen of earth right - which is to ask a question and even further your question is asking for "proof".

I don't agree with all your judgments in the OP however I agree in principal that this smells overwhelmingly similar to a hoax...

And Obama today announced that the photos will remain "classified".

As the Holy Quran says : "bring the evidence if you are truthful"....

(قُلْ هَاتُواْ بُرْهَانَكُمْ إِن كُنتُمْ صَادِقِينَ (2:111

Say: "Produce an evidence for what you are claiming, if what you say is true!" (2:111)

Re: Bin Laden: Surprising to see people really buying into this stuff

What if Bin Laden re-surfaces with a video...what the hell is going on...lol

Re: Bin Laden: Surprising to see people really buying into this stuff

:hehe:

Re: Bin Laden: Surprising to see people really buying into this stuff

Then either Obama will commit suicide or this:

Re: Bin Laden: Surprising to see people really buying into this stuff

There probably will be one more, a news article I read the day after they got him said that there seemed to be some evidence that a video had been recorded some time before the raid.

Re: Bin Laden: Surprising to see people really buying into this stuff

Well MS…this conclusion has a premise that ISI cannot claim to be “passive co-sponsor” or sleeping partner in this supposed attack because that reduces its credibility among Pakistanis. Well this premise is faulty, because ISI does not need credibility with Pakistani people. It is a secret organization run by active and inactive (ex) Pakistani services personnel and it never needs validation from the masses. So for it to now make such statements is as easy as the “story” that broke on Sunday.

Re: Bin Laden: Surprising to see people really buying into this stuff

So you are arguing that ISI is an active player in a conspiracy to fool the world into thinking that Osama was killed Monday morning in Pakistan?

Re: Bin Laden: Surprising to see people really buying into this stuff

Just the fact that I dont see why USA needed to pull this hoax is a reason good enough for me to believe that it was not a hoax.

Plus, USA cannot afford to pull any more hoaxes. WMD (or lack of it) was enough to bring the US's reputation to ground, any more lies (of this magnitude) would be a disaster.

Lastly, if this is a hoax then there are only 2 real possibilities

  1. Osama is still alive somewhere, in which case it will be a matter of days before he would release an audio or video

  2. Osama was dead long ago, in which case some top official of Al-Qaeda or Taliban would come out and tell that truth to people.

In both cases, it would be few days before the reality of it would open up to the world, had it be a hoax, and USA is not fool not to know that hoax is not going to last for more than a week or so.

Just the above logic dictates that OBL's killing in Abbotabad was real.

Re: Bin Laden: Surprising to see people really buying into this stuff

Or he died under their custody - somewhere in Afghanistan on monday and they had to cash it :D

howzat :@:

Re: Bin Laden: Surprising to see people really buying into this stuff

Whether or not it was hoax, when was Osama's last "video/audio" tape released? Ayman Al-Zawahiri has been out of scene for so long too, all we have been hearing is TTP statements.

Re: Bin Laden: Surprising to see people really buying into this stuff

But then whey Abbotabad? Why bring Pakistan in this picture when they could claim to kill him in some Waziristan cave.

In that case, TIP can release a statement about the hoax

Point is, if it was a hoax, you cant hide it for more than few days.

Re: Bin Laden: Surprising to see people really buying into this stuff

we dont have military academies in waziristan - They arent afraid about the nukes we have - they are more worried about the people who are capable enough to use them :)

Re: Bin Laden: Surprising to see people really buying into this stuff

Then why is the Pakistan military agreeing that Osama was living there and killed there?

Re: Bin Laden: Surprising to see people really buying into this stuff

No.
I am showing that they, can now, easily claim to have these people in custody to cleanse themselves of the blame, by doing this they can give more air to the general assumption that ISI / Pak govt are in cahoots with the US/CIA/Blackwater in reality.
The nest result for them is that they save face and don't appear as total dumbass*s who were sleeping. The latter most is what many are calling the Pakistani army/ISI right now.

Re: Bin Laden: Surprising to see people really buying into this stuff

He was found there - Pakistan Military hasn't said in any statement the he was living there under their nose - or they were harboring/ protecting him as many people are implying thesedays ...

And if US knew that he was living there since Aug 2010 - why didn't they strike him Earlier - when they could send drones on minor suspicions in waziristan - why not in abbottabad ?

Re: Bin Laden: Surprising to see people really buying into this stuff

Bhai jan...they are using the "classified" card...so making themselved free from scrutiny. Hence you don't know if he died on Sunday or died in 2001 or some other time. And hence it proves nothing on their claims.

Re: Bin Laden: Surprising to see people really buying into this stuff

However, ISI has already admitted to being total dumbass*s who were sleeping, and claim they were not in cahoots. If their interest was in cleasing themselve of blame, they would start arguing that the kill took place at another time and location.

The Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) on Tuesday said it was embarrassed to have failed to capture Osama bin Laden but defended its record against mounting criticism of complicity.

Intelligence officials said the ISI had no idea bin Laden had been holed-up in the sprawling compound in Abbottabad.

One official said it was embarrassing, but insisted that the ISI’s record in capturing and killing hundreds of other militants should not be forgotten. “It (the compound) slipped from our radar,” he told AFP, referring to the period after the 2003 raid to capture Libbi, who escaped until Pakistani agents arrested him in 2005 in Mardan.

Re: Bin Laden: Surprising to see people really buying into this stuff

Does it mean they actually witnessed OBL’s dead body? or are they just accepting information passed on to them as “truth” and based on that “truth” they are saying that OBL lived there?
