I am showing that they, can now, easily claim to have these people in custody to cleanse themselves of the blame, by doing this they can give more air to the general assumption that ISI / Pak govt are in cahoots with the US/CIA/Blackwater in reality.
The nest result for them is that they save face and don’t appear as total dumbass*s who were sleeping. The latter most is what many are calling the Pakistani army/ISI right now.

However, ISI has already admitted to being total dumbass*s who were sleeping, and claim they were not in cahoots. If their interest was in cleasing themselve of blame, they would start arguing that the kill took place at another time and location.

The Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) on Tuesday said it was embarrassed to have failed to capture Osama bin Laden but defended its record against mounting criticism of complicity.

Intelligence officials said the ISI had no idea bin Laden had been holed-up in the sprawling compound in Abbottabad.

One official said it was embarrassing, but insisted that the ISI’s record in capturing and killing hundreds of other militants should not be forgotten. “It (the compound) slipped from our radar,” he told AFP, referring to the period after the 2003 raid to capture Libbi, who escaped until Pakistani agents arrested him in 2005 in Mardan.
