Bilwal Zardari and the ‘benefit of doubt’

Bilawal Zardari is knocking at the door of practical politics. He is a scion of political notables and is coming from an educational institute which is known for imprinting its marks on its disciples. While his maternal legacy and paternal background are subjected to a variety of debates, he actually may not be denied the ‘benefit of doubt’ — a favour we give to Imran Khan so extravagantly that he is untested.

I personally have a huge case against Bilawal’s political qualification as I understand that true political worth is not an inheritable trait, it is earned by sheer hard work. Imran and Bilawal are thus two entirely different cases. But if we disapprove Bilawal without testing him, we may be subjecting him to the same injustice as some do to Imran Khan.

Let’s put together an unbiased assessment and forecast of Bilawal’s political future through a few questions.

  • How similar or dissimilar can we expect him to his family?
  • Will he become a pawn to serve the ‘king’ or will he become a king himself to play it in his own style?
  • Will he be inclined to decrease overreliance of the PPP on its history and make it a performance-oriented and forward-looking party?
  • What he may like to do differently than his parents and maternal grandpa?
  • What does he need to do to earn approval from non-PPP circles?

there is way to be united
Billawal aagay barho aur Imran ki madad karo

Re: Bilwal Zardari and the ‘benefit of doubt’

This is all you have to say about your chairman?

Re: Bilwal Zardari and the ‘benefit of doubt’

I dont think he would be any different in comparisons to the previous leaders of PPP. As far as Bilawal is concerned he seems to be dumb as well.

Re: Bilwal Zardari and the ‘benefit of doubt’

^ he is dumb, so he will rule us :)

Re: Bilwal Zardari and the ‘benefit of doubt’

I am awaiting views from Jiyalas.

PS: AP is a PTI troll. Don't count him as a Jiyala.

Re: Bilwal Zardari and the ‘benefit of doubt’

Since when did jiyalas knew about views :konfused:

Re: Bilwal Zardari and the ‘benefit of doubt’

I'd be willing to let him have a shot if he could show a backbone.
Unfortunately I have little faith that he will be able to exert independent thought/action on any matter.......

Bilawal Bhutto declares Imran Khan positive change in politics Dal main Kuchh kala hay

Re: Bilwal Zardari and the ‘benefit of doubt’

trouble at home maybe? not getting along with daddy?

How is his affair with Miss Khar?

He further elaborated on his Twitter account:

45 years of the PPP:** “We did not come this far to fail”. - WE WILL REALLY TAKE ALL YOUR MONEY! …
**Yo! People of Larkana! - Can’t wait to become ur MNA! Dying to spend your development funds in Disney Land!

Re: Bilwal Zardari and the ‘benefit of doubt’

That was fake but an affair more possible in future
One lived in UK and Billawal is often there .

Bilwal Zardari and the ‘benefit of doubt’

Pak is not a monarchy. He doesnt deserve the benefit of doubt, not more than anyone else, and def. not at the cost of the masses.

Re: Bilwal Zardari and the ‘benefit of doubt’

Actually there is no doubt on him.
No one is responsible for charges on others .
He is only Mr Clean in Pakistani politics .
Any doubt ?

Re: Bilwal Zardari and the ‘benefit of doubt’

Pakistan is not a monarchy, but PPP is. Its a family conglomerate, and Bilawal was anointed long ago.

So long as Zardari is alive, he will be running the show, regardless of Bilawal's presence. Bilawal is there just for the name that he conveniently adopted in order to stake a claim to the 'throne'.

Re: Bilwal Zardari and the ‘benefit of doubt’

He has not started practical politics yet, but you have started to worship him like a god. You still did not make any comment related to the discussion. I was seeking an unbiased opinion about his course of action in future. But you did not bother to say a word on the topic. Is it sheer disenchantment or blindfold veneration for your chairman?

Re: Bilwal Zardari and the ‘benefit of doubt’

And perhaps anyone born to Zardari clan will have Bhutto as a surname from here on.

Re: Bilwal Zardari and the ‘benefit of doubt’

I have only said that he is only Mr clean because
He has not started practical politics yet,
He is the leader of the party because
He is the chairman
Deserve support of every Pakistani .

Re: Bilwal Zardari and the ‘benefit of doubt’

^ For you to answer:

  • How similar or dissimilar can we expect him to his family?
  • Will he become a pawn to serve the ‘king’ or will he become a king himself to play it in his own style?
  • Will he be inclined to decrease overreliance of the PPP on its history and make it a performance-oriented and forward-looking party?
  • What he may like to do differently than his parents and maternal grandpa?
  • What does he need to do to earn approval from non-PPP circles?

Re: Bilwal Zardari and the ‘benefit of doubt’

If he has not started "practical politics yet" then what has he done that he "deserves support of every Pakistani"?
