I did my cousins for her because the salon messed it up. ( she came running home on the day before her wedding in a complete panic)
I know it sounds weird but she was desperate, and yes it did hurt, but not THAT much it was bearable.

i couldn't find decent wax so shaved, but i normally do wax once a month and i do it myself, yes it does hurt but your body get's used to it and it's easier if you do it regularly.

I get mine done at a salon because im too scared to do it myself.

It's not that painful and leaves you with a better result than any other method.
Just don't have it done too close to the wedding day.

YES! definetely get everything waxed before the wedding. bikini, legs, arms, underarms everything. you'll feel so good about yourself. no worry of regrowth or anythiing.
it might hurt the first time. pain tolerance is diff for everyone. just tell yourself its WORTH it and you'll get through it! :)

enigmaa hi.... bikini waxing is well worth it as it leaves u WHOLLY clean and smooth.... Ive been doing it for years and its worth the initial pain.. then it becomes a routine and so u climatise to the pain .... go for it!!!!!!
When I lived in Palestine I remember going to visit my roommate's sister the day before she got married. The poor girl's eyes were red and swollen from crying cuz she just got 'sugared'---in Palestine they take out all the hair before the wedding, ripping it out with a sticky homemade lemon-sugar mixture---ouch!!!
I think waxing is definitely a great idea, and any good salon will have some sort of topical spray or cream they put on sensitive areas so the waxing will not hurt as much. If you decide to do it yourself at home, a lot of kits contain numbing wipes, and if your kits doesn't, you can easily get the cream separately at a drug store. I guess you could also ice the area beforehand to numb it, but I think that would also tighten up the pores around your hair follicles and make them more difficult to remove. So it's best to use a numbing cream or spray if you're worried about the pain.

i did it myself too before - lekin shaadi se pehle got it done and it was fine - pretty bearable ... the lady applied some kinda powder before doing it and it made it seem pretty painless..

thanks so much girls for your valuable suggestions.one more thing ideally how many days before the wedding should one get waxed.a friend of mine got her whole body waxed on her mehndi morning and she developed sores and redness on her back,but aleovera really helped her.she put that on her back and the redness was gone the next morning.
I think two days is ideal---gives chance to soothe any irritation but not enough time for anything to even think about growing back yet!

LOL, Iggle. Yeah, that's what I was trying to say when I talked about my Palestinian friend---they basically do their own full Brazilian but with the homemade sugar and no pain relief----YOUCH!!!!

ive tried that homemade stuff and although it KILLS at first, you go numb after a while and the hair take ages growing back. Some of my friends have been using it since the age of 13 and now they say hardly any hair grows back...lucky them.

I was always wondering how girls who are raised their whole life to be so modest, keep everything covered, etc., are able to deal with their moms and sisters sugaring everything for them before their wedding! I wondered how my friend's sister didn't drop dead of embarrassment. :)
^ exactly my point...i dont want to go all preachy on people but modesty isnt only covering from non mahram men...haya (shame) is important at all times... even when on your own because Allah is there and to have haya from Him is more important than having haya from any human!

I didnt feel embarassed when i did my cousins and i never feel embarassed at my salon!
I dont think it makes me have less sharam/haya

i do the WHOLE thing myself too. i use Sally Hansen bikini wax its the BEST!! i've gotten so ued to it now that i dont even notice the pain.

lolz...you are already scaring me:(...but i guess the pain is worth it specially for the BIG DAY.we women have to bear so much after all,wax pain,labour pain,periods pain.OMG
