For the first time in a year or so we left our 3 boys at their grandparents for a sleepover and we (me and husband) decided to go and watch a movie (a grown ups movie) all by ourselves. When we were driving to the cinema the car broke down.
We had to spend 2 hours standing on a path alongside the motorway waiting for a rescue service. While we were waiting, a weird homeless dude was standing on the other side of the road and kept staring at us for hours…giving me chills.
The rescue guy came and took another 2 hours checking the car and arranging for the tow. We sat with him in his big van and he dropped us home. The whole way we kept talking…discussed Game of Thrones and horror movies with him.
The rescue guy looked kinda tired and hungry and it was late in the evening so my hsband invited him in for dinner…had to serve him with naan and mirchon wala aaloo gosht…I was scared for him coz he was non-desi. He finished everything and said it was most delicious. Weird.
It was the most weirdest day of my life. I thought I’d share it here.
Its interesting day in the end and not wierd but your two got to spend time with each other and that was the purpose anyway. Movie tu srif 1.5 hours ki hoteee
It took place earlier this week. I don't wear hijab, but I'm required to do so at the school I teach in. Therefore, sometimes I'll just cover my hair when I leave for work. I was driving behind this woman in a Mini Cooper who kept staring at me. I hadn't committed any traffic violations at her expense...so I dont know what was up with her.....perhaps it was because of the hijab. The road divided into separate lanes and she moved over to the left lane and I was in the right-hand lane, but we had to come to a stop cuz there was a red traffic light. That's when she took out her cell-phone and snapped a pic of of me. I should have flipped her off or made a silly face or something, but it all occured so fast and I felt really creeped-out for a while. That's never happened to me before. So, that was my weird morning.
I was traveling in Rome and all of a sudden someone came and hugged me from behind. They started to talk to me in a language I didn't know. I was so scared because I didn't know them. I had to tell them that I didn't know them. I assume there is some woman that looks just like me in another part of the world.

This happened to me once. An Asian lady followed me on the freeway and started snapping my pictures. I took my phone out and started taking her pictures. Then I followed her and took her license plate pictures from the back. Totally freaked her out.
Sometime back in 2001 right after september 11, I was driving home with my mom when we stopped at a red light. A white truck pulled right next to us and the driver (in his late teens/early 20's perhaps) looked at us and asked, "do you guys believe in God". Now my mom and I wear hijabs and since this was a white teenager in a truck asking me about God in the most random of places I was just expecting him to make some snide comment so I ignored him and looked the other way. My mom responded and said "yes we are Muslims". Then the guys goes, "can you please pray for me, I just found out I have cancer". with that he broke down into tears. Just then the light turned green and I had to turn the other way so I just said a quick "I'm sorry, we will pray for you" before we drove off.
Very weird, but that guy still pops in my prayers now and then.
you know in France wearing face coveing is against the law in public places. This woman was just taking a picture of you. Do you want the law changes so people cannot take each others pictures?
