LAHORE: At least 11 people were injured in a powerful blast in Lahore area of Model Town, which seemed to have targeted a government office, Geo News reported Monday.
The blast sound was heard far and wide. The blast was so powerful that it created a huge crater on the blast site.

My parents' house is 4-5 houses down the same lane where this happened...
I just called my mother ....Alhumdullilah they are safe...but not a single house in the neighborhood has any more windows...all the glass shattered...it was such a loud blast...
My mother was in a panic mode and according to her it was a frantic scene..

I just called my mother ....Alhumdullilah they are safe...but not a single house in the neighborhood has any more windows...all the glass shattered...it was such a loud blast... My mother was in a panic mode and according to her it was a frantic scene..

11 dead, 61 hurt in Lahore blast

LAHORE: At least 11 people were killed and 61 injured in a powerful blast in Lahore area of Model Town, which targeted a government office, Geo News reported Monday.
The deceased include two women and three men.
Talking to media, Lahore Commissioner Khusro Pervez confirmed the killings of at least 11 people.
Talking to media, DCO Sajjad Bhutta said the blast may be a suicide car attack, adding at least 600-kilogram explosives have been used in the blast. While, Bomb Disposal Squad said the explosives were 800 kilograms.
The material are being said to be the C4, which is the most horrible among explosives. The fact that the vehicle packed with 800-kg explosives moved freely in the city, raises questions on the security condition in the city. The blast was so powerful that a man in nearby building could not sustain its tremendous sound and passed away.
Talking to media, Punjab police chief Tariq Salim Dogar said the secret agency was working in a residential area as there is shortage of offices; the targeted office was to be shifted to its proper working place.
The police chief said the blast targeted the Special Investigation Agency of the secret agency at 815am.
It should be mentioned that the secret agency’s investigation and research office was working at a house situated in K Block of Model Town.

The doctor appealed the citizens for blood donations.
Ambulances, police and other rescue teams are busy with rescue work. Also, heavy machinery have arrived on the spot to retrieve the bodies and the injured people from under the rubble.
The blast site has been cordoned off, so that the rescue work could head smoothly.
Division Commissioner Khusro Pervez Khan said the attackers’ vehicle entered from K Block.

sorry to say but its true:
yesterday when we came back to home, our car's radiator leaked. we talk to mechanic & did someting with it temporarily. i told every body to not laying punga with car. on monday (today) when i told kazim to go & bring car out of garage, i listen a huge blast & rushed to car & said "kazim phir tum baaz nahi ay gari kay sath panga laynay say?" he said i did nothing. i was surprised that what kind of sound it was?
sooner on my way to office i was that it was a huge blast near model town, roads were blocked & i reached office very difficultly. thats going on in our beloved Pakistan :(:(

Apparently children walking to school got killed on their way :( I really feel so sad about this. May Allah punish those selfish, crazy people who think this is what Islam is about.

Can you plz. tell us the exact location of the blast in K Block of Model Town where this blast happened actually ? Was it near Dr.Asrar Mosque , or Nurseries of K Block opposite to Khusnama Flats,Thai Restaurant or Dera Fazl-e-Haq restaurant etc ? It was hardly 2 or 3 km from my home and parents telling me they rushed out when huge blast jolted whole house like earthquake and they saw heavy mushroom of smoke in back. Dr.Asrar mosque also badly damaged and his students injured now i hope , he will stop supporting these people. It was 8:17 am and it was school time for students.500-700 kg explosive is used and my family in Defence , Cavalry and Cantt like far flung areas telephoned that they heard a huge blast

It was the house just next door to the Dr.Israr mosque.
And yes people living as far as Defence etc did hear the huge blast.
