Re: Bidaa... What do you understand from that word?

Millions Celebrating the Birth of Prophet Muhammad Peace be upon him, Miladun-Nabiy

• Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu Alayhi Wa Sallam is the last Prophet of Allah, he was born in Mecca on 12th of rabi^ul Awal, over 1427 years ago, and was buried in Medina. He is the best of God’s creations.

• Hundreds of millions of Muslims all over the world optionally but proudly Celebrate the occasion of Miladun-Nabiy, the Birth of Prophet Muhammad sallallahu^alayhi wa sallam. It’s not an obligation to celebrate it, but it’s a good rewardable deed, and certainly it’s not an unlawful or misguided act.

• Muslims join together in love of the Prophet on the day of Mawlid thanking Allah for sending our Prophet as a mercy.

• Muslims join together in al-Mawlid reciting the Qur'an, chanting Islamic praises, telling the story of the Prophet's birth, teaching Religious Knowledge, slaughtering animals to feed to the poor, and gathering to thank and praise Allah and ask Him to exalt the honor of Prophet Muhammad, sallallahu^alayhi wa sallam.

• Over 900 years ago a knowledgeable, and righteous ruler named: al-Mudhaffar, King of Irbil, was the first man to initiate the practice of celebrating al-Mawlid.

• King Al-Mudhaffar made a grand celebration that was attended by many scholars. And he was praised by famous Muslim scholars for doing this great deed.

• Imam As-Suyootiy authored a book about al-Mawlid and named it: “Husnul Maqsid fi ^amalil-Mawlid”. Which shows the great honor of celebrating the birth of Prophet Muhammad.

• The famous scholar of hadith, Abul-Khattab Ibn Dihyah, wrote a book for this king especially to be read during the mawlid celebration.

• Al-Mawlid is a good and rewardable innovation derived from the Qur’an and teachings of the Prophet.

• Prophet Muhammad said what means: “The one who innovates a good innovation in Islam has its reward and a reward similar to those who follow him in it--until the Day of Judgment--without lessening their reward. The one who innovates an innovation of misguidance would be sinful for it and has sins similar to those who follow him in it--until the Day of Judgment--without lessening their sins”

• From such hadith, the scholars of Islam like an-Nawaiy and al-hafidh Ibn Hajar and others said that innovation (Bid^ah) is of two types one that does not comply with Qur’an and Sunnah and that is rejected, and one that complies with Qur’an and Sunnah which is accepted in Islam such as al-Mawlid celebration.

• Among the good innovations was the doing of the followers of Prophet Issa (Jesus) peace be upon him as they initiated a good deed as Allah said in al-Qur’an {wa rahbaniyatan-ibtada^ooha} which means they innovated an act of leaving all worldly desires and detaching the hearts from worldly interests and spending the time for worship. This proves that bid^ah is of 2 types, good and bad.

• Also at the time of the companions, Khubayb innovated a good innovation (bid^ah) by making a practice of praying tow rak^ahs before being killed. As narrated by al-Bukhariy.

• Also Yahya bin Ya^mur innovated a good innovation by placing dots and characters on the Arabic letters in the Qur’an. A dot below the Ba’ leeter, Dot above Noon letter and so on. That was a very beneficial and useful bid^ah accepted in Islam.

• Khalifah Uthman innovated the practice of a second Adhan on Fridays. As narrated by Bukhariy.

• Making Salat and salam on the Prophet after the Adhan is another good innovation practiced by Muslims over 700 years ago.

• And Celebrating the Birth of the Prophet is one of those good innovations of guidance that comply with the Qur’an and Teachings of Prophet Muhammad.

• Let us enjoy presenting our thankfulness to Allah, for sending prophet Muhammad as a mercy to humanity. We are proud to show our love to the Prophet and are proud to present it in celebrations.
We ask Allah by the Virtue of Prophet Muhammad, to bless us by the blessings of the Prophet, to protect our Muslim nation and have mercy upon us all.

Re: Bidaa... What do you understand from that word?

Why do millinos of Muslism do Mawlid?
- Wh not?

Why do wahabies want to stop Muslims from celerbating the Prophet's birth?
- Because they always like opposing Ahlus-sunnah. And that's why the also want want to stop the Muslims from visiting his grave (Like what Sayidna Bilal al-habashiy did..), and making tabarruk by his traces (like sayidna khalid bin alwaleed did), making naat for the Prophet (like many comanions did..), making tawassul through the Prophet peace be upon him (like blind companion did..) and all things that indicate the greatness of the Prophet.

If everything the Prophet did not do is misguidance, then what does this hadith mean?
"The one who innovates a good innovation in Islam has its reward and a reward similar to those who follow him in it”.
-The scholars said anything that complies with the religion fits under that hadith.

Re: Bidaa... What do you understand from that word?

Al-Hafidh, al-Mujtahid, Al-Bayhaqiy Narrated in "Manaqib ash-Sahfi3iy:
Innovations are of 2 types, one that opposes the Qur’an and Sunnah or the sayings of the companions or the Ijam^, consensus of the scholars, that is the innovation of misguidance. The second type is what was innovated from the good innovations that has no opposition to any of the aforementioned sources.

روى أبو نعيم عن إبراهيم الجنيد قال: سمعت الشافعي يقول: البدعة بدعتان: بدعة محمودة وبدعة مذمومة، فما وافق السنة فهو محمود، وما خالف السنة فهو مذموم
Abu Na^im narrated from the route of Ibrahim al-Junayd he said: I heard shafi^iy say that the Bid^a is of 2 types, a praised bid^a and a dispraised bid^ah. What complies with the alsunna it’s praised, and what opposes alsunnah it’s dispraised.

Bid^a is of tow types as taken from the hadith of ^aisha may Allah’s mercy be upon her as she said: The messenger peace be upon him said: Prophet Muhammad , says in this respect: "He who innovates something that is not in agreement with our matter (religion), will have it rejected.

Al-Bayhaqiy narrated with his Isna also in “Manaqib ash-shafi^iy” that ash-shafi^iy may Allah have mercy upon both of them said “Innovations are of 2 types, one that opposes the Qur’an and Sunnah or the sayings of the companions or the Ijam^, consensus of the scholars, that is the innovation of misguidance. The second type is what was innovated from the good innovations that has no opposition to any of the aforementioned sources, and that is the innovation that is not dispraised.

Allah knows. Best.

SO, it can’t be put any simpler than this:
Innovation (Bid^ah) is of two types one that does not comply with Qur’an and Sunnah and that is rejected, and one that complies with Qur’an and Sunnah which is accepted in Islam such as al-Mawlid celebration.

Re: Bidaa… What do you understand from that word?
