Go look up BBC videos from the era and you would see that he would house arrest opposition leaders, which is not democratic at all. The golden era of the economy was under ayub khan, as bhutto’s disastrous and biased nationalization (stuffed his jiyalas in companies while feudalism thrived) destroyed any great hopes for the pakistani economy if the loss of bangladesh wasn’t a blow to our economy already.
