Bhutto's Vs the Army

Re: Bhutto's Vs the Army

^ yes any news item concerning people's party is false. Do you believe that the opposition was persecuted in Bhutto's golden period or that's a fabrication as well?

Re: Bhutto's Vs the Army

The people who have been directly affected tell the stories of the cruelty of FSF, as far as falsely implicating the police officers (I believe you want to say that they got free due to false cases). Well how many corrupt people have been punished (nawaz, zardari and benazir) by our judicial system. Even the terrorists like Lashkar e jhangvi's leader go Scott free so what can you say?

Re: Bhutto's Vs the Army

Again wrong. Can you name just one person of opposition who was personally persecuted by Bhutto? His golden period was really golden. Pakistan had never seen such period of properity, will never see again.

Re: Bhutto's Vs the Army

^ I personally know people who were thrown into prisons as they were from opposition (with no information to the family members), threats of burning their houses and kidnapping their daughters. He was not a saint as to how jiyalas show him to be. What he did with others came infront of him, law of nature.

Re: Bhutto's Vs the Army

What was golden about it?

Re: Bhutto’s Vs the Army

His Golden Period made sure Zia came to power. It was ZAB’s decision to make Zia COAS. So much for a smart man

Re: Bhutto's Vs the Army

Go look up BBC videos from the era and you would see that he would house arrest opposition leaders, which is not democratic at all. The golden era of the economy was under ayub khan, as bhutto's disastrous and biased nationalization (stuffed his jiyalas in companies while feudalism thrived) destroyed any great hopes for the pakistani economy if the loss of bangladesh wasn't a blow to our economy already.

Re: Bhutto's Vs the Army

I admit one great thing he achieved. He was successful in population control. Pakistan's population was reduced to half during his time!!!

Not only that, but private corporations around the world vowed not to invest in Pakistan ever, because of eccentric politics resulting in nationalization. They would have caused invasion of evil capitalism in Pakistan. Thanks Bhutto.

Re: Bhutto's Vs the Army

They are still afraid to invest even after his 42 years of death. 4 years of nationalisation and 45 years of denationalization and market economy. Just marketing IK can block thinking power, I did not know that:)

Re: Bhutto's Vs the Army

^ Yes, dear. Such disastrous steps have long term impact.

  1. We lost all progress made in 1960s.
  2. Macroeconomic uncertainty, specially sudden changes in policy, is still considered a major hurdle in persuading investment in the country.

There is substantial academic literature on the subject and I can send that to you if you want.

P.S. Why do you think all of Zardari's assets are abroad? :P
