Bhagat Singh - A hero during struggle against British rule in subcontinent

Re: Bhagat Singh - A hero during struggle against British rule in subcontinent

Just google Shaheed Bhagat Singh
You will get your reply
This also surprised me

Re: Bhagat Singh - A hero during struggle against British rule in subcontinent

Are you saying you googled and when you saw people praising him you decided to call him shaheed? :hmmm: I wouldnt base my opinion on what others think

Re: Bhagat Singh - A hero during struggle against British rule in subcontinent

Please do not bait others to indulge in ethnic divisions; leave that for the unethical politicians who comes in all colors and speak all languages. In case you didn’t know, fauj consists of all Pakistanis, to say that it comprises of only soldiers of Punjab province would be dishonest, and outright lying. I am certain there are Pakhtun, Baloch, and Sindhi jawans along with their Punjabi brothers in the armed forces, and they serve the nation proudly day and night just so that you can sit at home comfortably and critique and discredit them. Please be honest, if not factual when stating matters pertaining to Pakistani institutions.

As for being sharminda; let me ask you a question which I think you should be able to answer pretty easily without giving blanket statements. Do you think the current generation should be accountable for the deeds of their past generations, even if they didn’t benefit from it? If you answer yes, then apologies start from the current politicians and their progeny who are already watering at the mouth for their turn to consume the wealth of improvished Pakistani public. However, if you answer no, then why are you asking anyone from current generation to be shameful for what occurred before? Unless you have evidence to the fact that there’s a reason for Pakistanis to be ashamed, which I’m almost certain you do not (as usual), please enlighten us to why you feel Pakistanis should be sharminda so that we all here can be the first to do the right thing and display our guilt.

Please state facts, and save the blanket statements which reek of ignorance and tribalism; which is the very reason why Pakistan suffers from internal divisions because everyone feels their guy is the saint and others are sinners waiting in line to get their pardon from Almighty. La haula wala quwwata illa billah.

Re: Bhagat Singh - A hero during struggle against British rule in subcontinent

Remember I am not against operation , Me and my leader Bilawal Bhutto were among first to demand this
But
othing changed for Baluchs
Their blood is so cheap that no body even reads about deaths in Baluchistan , writing is a a very big thing
Nothing changed for Sindh , Since Liaqat Ali Khan , Nothing changed
KPK nothing changed , Operation is good or bad started without will of federal and provincial government
Punjab , IK ,PMLQ ,TuQ ,Sheeda Talli are being used to weaken elected government .
Mafia is growing up
Now tell me , Did you write ever in favor of Baluchs

Re: Bhagat Singh - A hero during struggle against British rule in subcontinent

No I did it after your question

Re: Bhagat Singh - A hero during struggle against British rule in subcontinent

You said Punjabi fauj; but did not have anything to say to the fact that Pakistani Armed Forces consist of all ethnicities. Hence discrediting your own statement.

You asked others to be sharminda, but did not answer the question I posed. Perhaps because the answer may not serve your agenda.

Then you went on a tangent about some operation, but the thread is about Bhagat Singh. So what operation are you talking about, and how does it relate to the topic?

As for me writing in support of Baloch brothers, I have always written in support of Pakistan as a whole and mentioned clearly that areas of Pakistan which are behind and deprived need to be propped up. I can probably find it for your reading pleasure, but I am not so sure you would read it in sincerity and be sharminda for your dishonesty in calling Pakistan Armed forces “punjabi fauj”. Please be factual when you speak so that you can substantiate your claims.

Re: Bhagat Singh - A hero during struggle against British rule in subcontinent

but you called him ‘shaheed’ before his question :chai:

Re: Bhagat Singh - A hero during struggle against British rule in subcontinent

such hamesha karhwa hota hay. Tell me where did I go wrong by quoting statement about 1940 resolution. Except a useless minara was erected in Lahore to commemorate the occasion, or a military parade, why not a single clause has implemented till today??

The statement
23 March, 1940: Newspapers printed news about Lahore Resolution, demanding division of India

The Lahore resolution was actually adopted on March 24, but officially in Pakistan March 23 is considered the date of its adoption. In 1941, it became part of the Muslim League’s constitution. In 1946, it formed the basis for the decision of Muslim League to struggle for one state for the Muslims.[14] The statement declared:

No constitutional plan would be workable or acceptable to the Muslims unless geographical contiguous units are demarcated into regions which should be so constituted with such territorial readjustments as may be necessary.[15]

Additionally, it stated:

That adequate, effective and mandatory safeguards shall be specifically provided in the constitution for minorities in the units and in the regions for the protection of their religious, cultural, economic, political, administrative and other rights of the minorities.

**Most importantly, to convince smaller provinces such as Sindh to join, it provided a guarantee:

That geographically contiguous units are demarcated into regions which should be constituted, with such territorial readjustments as may be necessary that the areas in which the Muslims are numerically in a majority as in the North Western and Eastern Zones of (British) India should be grouped to constitute ‘independent states’ in which the constituent units should be autonomous and sovereign.

Re: Bhagat Singh - A hero during struggle against British rule in subcontinent

So what you are saying is that Sindh should be an independent country?

Re: Bhagat Singh - A hero during struggle against British rule in subcontinent

Most of us have the same feelings towards the army as you, oddly enough I believe most of us do not have any relatives in the army, can the same be said about you?

Re: Bhagat Singh - A hero during struggle against British rule in subcontinent

and what didn’t work here?

Re: Bhagat Singh - A hero during struggle against British rule in subcontinent

I have been reading about him in Urdu and many wrote him Shaheed Bhagat Singh

Re: Bhagat Singh - A hero during struggle against British rule in subcontinent

No.

If we went according to Lahore declaration, Bangladesh and West Pakistan should have been loosely combined in a federating units where both would have been largely independent. There is no specific mention of Sindh.

The independence of Pakistan was according to the British partition plan which was very much different from what was envisioned in Lahore Declaration. My personal feeling is that if we apply Lahore declaration in its true spirit, then India would not have been divided into entirely separate countries but a federation with three states. These states, however would have been largely independent from the ‘center’.

Re: Bhagat Singh - A hero during struggle against British rule in subcontinent

Govts apathy towards freedom fighters! Bhagat Singh still not martyr in official records - Oneindia

New Delhi, March 23: At a time when nation is celebrating ‘Shaheed Divas’ (March 23) to mark the death anniversary of Bhagat Singh and his associates, it is shocking that in Government’s record, these freedom fighters are still not ‘martyrs’.

Reportedly, Government has closed files related to Bhagat Singh where an enquiry was made and it was asked that the freedom fighter should be declared a ‘martyr’. A lawyer named Maninder Singh had filed a RTI in 2013 and had asked for information on the matter during UPA govt’s rule…

Re: Bhagat Singh - A hero during struggle against British rule in subcontinent

many will be calling Mumtaz Qadri shaheed too :frowning:

Re: Bhagat Singh - A hero during struggle against British rule in subcontinent

whoevers call him shaheed should embrace shahadat…

In a way, Bhagat Singh was lot better than his coward Mumtaz ( reminds me of the actress), at least Bhagat Singh accepted death for the cause he believed in and this coward is playing around… as @kakabali says, shaheed ho ja’o horooN ko pass jaoo… problem kiya hay???

Re: Bhagat Singh - A hero during struggle against British rule in subcontinent

I guess you already know it but let me say it here.
AP uncle has his own blog where he use to publish his ‘articles’. And you know ethnic stuff gets you more attraction and rating. Few months ago, he used to share links of his blog here in PA. So it all about rating and earning money.

Re: Bhagat Singh - A hero during struggle against British rule in subcontinent

Interesting. A confederation like Switzerland but of only three units. I wonder how that affected smaller states though, as the statement said it was a guarantee for the smaller states like Sindh.

Re: Bhagat Singh - A hero during struggle against British rule in subcontinent

The following statement was ‘added’ to Wikipedia article. Not part of original text.

“…Most importantly, to convince smaller provinces such as Sindh to join, it provided a guarantee…”

Re: Bhagat Singh - A hero during struggle against British rule in subcontinent

I am okay with calling Bhagat Singh a freedom fighter, but to call him shaheed is something I do not agree with. I agree with the part where all those ‘seeking hoor/shahadat’ to get their shahadat in jail please.
