Bhagat Singh - A hero during struggle against British rule in subcontinent

Re: Bhagat Singh - A hero during struggle against British rule in subcontinent

If it was necessary, why did Jinnah never advocate for Muslims to make such pressure? Jinnah advocated the exact opposite path that terrorists like Bhagat Singh and base traitors like Subhash Chandra Bose took.

Re: Bhagat Singh - A hero during struggle against British rule in subcontinent

Pakistan: When Jinnah defended Bhagat Singh

Re: Bhagat Singh - A hero during struggle against British rule in subcontinent

Shaheed Bhagat Singh the freedom fighter , died in 1931 , When there was no concept of Pakistan , People of India were united against occupying forces

Re: Bhagat Singh - A hero during struggle against British rule in subcontinent

I hope thats just a sarcasm. If not then i pity your knowledge of your motherland and its heros.

Re: Bhagat Singh - A hero during struggle against British rule in subcontinent

The article itself has a quote from Jinnah. “I do not approve of the action of Bhagat Singh” . If Jinnah did not approve of it, why should any true Pakistani approve of Singh’s actions?

His “defense” of Singh was more about a lawyer and politician who disapproved of the way the law was being bent for political ends to get a conviction against Singh.

In this, Jinnah is like those lawyers in the west and Pakistan today who take legal action on human rights grounds against the way governments treat terrorism suspects.

Re: Bhagat Singh - A hero during struggle against British rule in subcontinent

Shaheed? really?..

Re: Bhagat Singh - A hero during struggle against British rule in subcontinent

exactly my point, he had nothing to do with Pakistan specifically (separate homeland for Muslims)

Re: Bhagat Singh - A hero during struggle against British rule in subcontinent

Taliban aur Alqaida, ISIS… sab yahi kehtay hayn

Re: Bhagat Singh - A hero during struggle against British rule in subcontinent

Any one who fought for freedom of India by defualt related to creation of Pakistan. Colonials also did not want India freed to be the one country in original format, which was crusaded and occupied by colonials during last Mogal empire under the guise of East India Company. Before these colonial crusaders ruled India, Muslims ruled one India for 1000 years.

Re: Bhagat Singh - A hero during struggle against British rule in subcontinent

Not true. The closest Muslims came to ruling one India was under Aurengzeb. Before and after that, India was split into several states, mostly Muslim ruled. The idea of one India is a historical rarety under any ruler, Bhuddist, Hindu or Muslim.

Re: Bhagat Singh - A hero during struggle against British rule in subcontinent

Not really. There is a clear distinction in fighting a foreign occupier versus fighting for a separate piece of homeland though enemy may appear to be common.

Re: Bhagat Singh - A hero during struggle against British rule in subcontinent

Does it make any difference whether Muslims rule states of India and or one India??? Bottom line is Muslims were the rulers.

Re: Bhagat Singh - A hero during struggle against British rule in subcontinent

Had this movement started before India freedom movement I would have agreed to it. It was purely after thought to create division of Muslims to create yet another country which was ultimately broke in 1971. There was basically something wrong with the way Pakistan was created. Even after creation, the loot maar of people in power continued whether they were in uniform or controlling the civilians through puppets.

Re: Bhagat Singh - A hero during struggle against British rule in subcontinent

At the time Bhagat Singh was hanged, even Jinnah wasn’t looking for a free country for Muslims.
However, I suspect he would have supported greater rights for Muslims in a United India …

“…our country is unique where six crore citizens are called untouchables and their mere touch defiles the upper castes. Gods get enraged if they enter the temples. It is shameful that such things are being practised in the twentieth century. We claim to be a spiritual country but hesitate to accept equality of all human beings while materialist Europe is talking of revolution since centuries. They had proclaimed equality during the American and French revolutions. However, we are still debating whether the untouchable is entitled for the sacred thread or can he read the Vedas or not. We are chagrined about discrimination against Indians in foreign lands, and whine that the English do not give us equal rights in India.”

Re: Bhagat Singh - A hero during struggle against British rule in subcontinent

Again, Bhagat Singh did not inspire directly or indirectly, he did not want a separate homeland for Muslims, so he can’t be linked in anyway with 23rd March, 1940.

Re: Bhagat Singh - A hero during struggle against British rule in subcontinent

What is the significant of resolution of 23 march?? Not more than a toilet paper. Not a single article of that resolution was ever implemented.

Re: Bhagat Singh - A hero during struggle against British rule in subcontinent

Thank you for sharing your thoughts about 23rd March, 1940.

Re: Bhagat Singh - A hero during struggle against British rule in subcontinent

I’m so glad we’ve this thread. Says a lot about our PPP supporters.. One calls Bhagat Singh Shaheed, other termed 23rd March resolution as toilet paper. Good going

Re: Bhagat Singh - A hero during struggle against British rule in subcontinent

23 March resolution was for Muslims of India but we have been using it for rule of Takht e Lahore and its ally establishment . If you kill Liaqat Bhutto ,Benazir , Shahnawaz , Bugti for remaining power in your hands , Think what is value of this resolution for people of other provinces . Angrej gia to Punjabi fauj aa gai . Bajaiay Sharminda honay kay aur muafee mangnay kay ham argu karay hain . I am also surprised with your enmity with Shaheed Bhagat Singh .

Re: Bhagat Singh - A hero during struggle against British rule in subcontinent

There is no enmity… but not sure by which definition is he shaheed?!! Respect is one thing but i dont think even Indians call him shaheed.
