Just answer one question , I am a baker , I worked hours to create those cake and then I will leave them out in the open where rats can feast on them . Does it make sense ? Rats will spoil my creation , will they not ? I will be out of business if I make cakes and feed them to rats instead of saving them to sell to customers. No ?

Have you ever been to a Gourmet? I presume you haven’t. They always leave everything out in their glass showcases. No baker worked hours to make these cakes, they all get made in their factory and are delivered out to branches.
