The video seems to be doctored. The bakery guy would be insane to make so many cakes and leave them out in the open for the rats to feast on. If I was a bakery owner I would do everything to protect them so that I could sell them and make money . It is only possible if those rats ordered the cakes and paid for them and now are enjoying eating them.
Use some common sense folks before spreading the lies. But again common sense is not so common. :D I am sure someone hates that gourmet baker for some reason .

You are good to go. Don't fret over this stupid video. I do not live in Pakistan , I have no ties with Lahore or this Bakery wala , but I feel pain for him because someone is messing up with him and I am sure he does not know it as yet and would not know how to respond to such a stupid stunt.

Gourmet has made HUGE expansion in the past 2 years. HUGE actually doesn't capture their growth and the massive business success they have been. Its phenomenal. Seems like they have their share of haters, trying to pull them down OR someone out to revenge for something personal.
Personally, I prefer Shezan over Gourmet any day!

I was in Lahore in 2009, I liked Gourmet's food and I was happy with the quality. Their bakeries were very clean, their restaurant's service was awesome. This rats incident is either a mishap or, as mirch said, an attempt to defame Gourmet.

I hvnt seen the video yet and dnt wanna seen it either. But was just having same discussion with family earlier in the evening n we were of the same opinion that it cud very well be some jealous person's doing to sabotage gourmet's success. Gourmet is doing very well for itself n now with its restaurant n catering, the competition or the sour losers cud be upto this. Ofcourse can't say for sure but doesnt make much sense otherwise.

There was nothing fake about the video. Gourmet use rat chefs like Ratatouille =D.
On a serious note, the video isn't fake, it has been recorded by someone after hours from outside the closed shutter of the bakery. It's not an attempt to malign Gourmet, it's just that this particular branch has a bad rat infestation and no one has done anything about it. There's no bakery 'guy' here, its a huge bakery chain. I'm sure this video hasn't had any effect on their sales. I have personally seen rats running behind the counter in KFC, anything is possible in Pakistan.
