Re: Best time to workout?
For me its 8pm-10pm every day, less crowded, coincides with some shows on television... 3-5pm on the weekends.
Ok, so I got married 6 months ago and these davate have made me FAT!
I work full time 5 days a week....when I get home its around 5 or 6pm...and I cook...once Ive cooked its about 7pm..sometimes 8pm...by which time Im hungry and want to have my dinner..
After dinner I clean up and get ready for work for the next day.....
my question is...when is the best time to workout????
Ok, so sometimes I dont need to cook as I can use the food from the day before...but then should I workout before I eat or after I eat? If so after how long before or after?
HELP!
Well since you are married, I'd suggest SEXcercise. honestly, it's the best work out EVER and farrrr more satisfying than working out at the gym. I do it atleast 5 times a week and i am in top notch shape. and i get to spend quality time with my partner too. so its a win win situation.
I workout after office hours... like after 5 or 6pm. Earlier I used to do it in lunch hours and I felt so good after that, but the problem is its terribly hard to get time during lunch to have workout, take bath etc.
The gym is inside my office building so when I go in the eve I also get time to spend time playing Racketball or basket/volley ball
Tabu - I like to workout the first thing in the morning before I get to work. That way your metabolism is up the whole day.
I also like that fact that I get it done first thing in the morning! I find if I leave my workouts for the evening - I am just too tired and then I don't.
I just get up an hour early and hit the gym - then go to work straight form the gym.
You'll be surprised that when you start working out - the more your energy level will be.
You do breakfast after?
Re: Best time to workout?
Okay, the BEST time to workout for you will be mornings. I know its hard waking up early especially with your busy lifestyle but once you get through the first week, it will be fine. You have to get through the first week though.
If you workout in the mornings, you will be conscious of what you eat all day. When we workout in the evening, we're usually trying to burn off that burrito we had for lunch earlier that day.
You will have A LOT more energy.
You will be in a better mood.
Your burn more calories in the morning working out.
Re: Best time to workout?
So I woke up at 5:20am this morning in order to hit the gym before work. I am NOT a morning person, but it is the only time I am able to work out, since I too don't leave work till around 7pm, then I have to get home and cook dinner or take care of other things.
Getting up and out of the house was the hardest part. It was very difficult mentally to see the time and not hit the snooze and skip the gym. But once you can get past that part, everything else is easy. After the workout, I felt great for the rest of the day. I had energy to get through the rest of the day, and mentally felt better too. But this doesn't work for everybody. Maybe your lunch break would work better? Try out different times, and see what works best for you.
Re: Best time to workout?
hmmm...good thoughts guys...I shud probably mention that I have a treadmill and cross trainer in my house and am still not using it..yes its very bad of me!!!
Before my wedding whilst I was at uni, I used to have gym membership as it was close to my parents house...I would go to the gym from 10am-12pm, sometimes 10am-1pm....and I would workout everyday for 2-3 hours...i lost quite a lot of weight then...Those were the times!
Since I have been married life is so busy and tiring that I just dont have energy to go the gym, so me and my hubby cancelled our membership and bought the cross trainer and treadmill...first month we used it loads and then during winter it was just too cold to go into the conservatory and use the machines...now that the weather is changing i am adamant that I want to lose weight!!
Thanks for the motivation guys
Regarding waking up early and working out...We just about manage to get up by 8am to get ready for work....!! But its worth a try.....will try it and see how I go.. Thanks
Re: Best time to workout?
I also have a treadmill at home but barely use it. I have to get out of the house otherwise it wont happen.
But when I do use it, it helps to watch TV while you're on it. Ive got a little TV sitting in front of my treadmill at home. I watch movies when Im running. :)
Good luck!!!
Re: Best time to workout?
Regarding morning workouts:
Re: Best time to workout?
gd question....
Re: Best time to workout?
That is a good question. I need to eat something to have energy. Thats just me...cant go without food in my tummy, lol.
I usually have a small container of yogurt before my workout and orange juice (warning: NOT the store bought kind...that has too much sugar and carbs in it).
Shower, change (this usually takes up about a good 30 minutes) and then have some oatmeal. Quaker makes some reeeeeeeeeeeeally good flavored kind now. My favorite it blueberry. You can also have whole wheat cereal with skim milk.
At one point, I was addicted to coffee and never thought I would be able to function without it but am doing great without it now.
You do breakfast after?
No - I eat breakfast before (oatmeal and milk with tea). and snack (like a fruit or yogurt after)
I also have a treadmill and and elliptical at home but i use those on the weekends or when I am working from home.
I just don't have time at home with kids, kitchen, house chores. It never happens. Something always come first.
But I do my some strength exercises at home before bed.
Desi diet food:
Any type of daal (full of protein) Fruit Chaat Chana Chaat - skip the Aloo Chanay ka salan Massar Daal Massor Daal Lal or White Lobia Chicken tikka, Chicken Roast - eat with chutney (skip naan and roti) Keema with matar Chaapal Kabab (don't fry them - bake them)
keep salt low - but throw in all type of other masalay like garam masala, zeera, mirch.
Good luck.
this is awsome....
the only problem i have is that i dont know how to count calories for home made desi food ......
cuz i only wana eat upto 1200 or less.........
