Re: Best time for photoshoot
wanted to do this, but we were not able to pull it off...
Re: Best time for photoshoot
usually for photoshoots before the function ive seen one of two things....
mehndi: usually photoshoot is at and during the function
rukhsati/nikkah: the photoshoot is either taken in a room at the venue where the dulha arrives and then leaves again or at the suite where u guys are going to stay the night after the rukhsati
valeema: photoshoot in a room at the venue
Re: Best time for photoshoot
But what about proper studios? For the nikah I did a photoshoot AFTER the nikah event and I feel that going to the studio then was a bad idea. The makeup wasnt so fresh nor was I
Re: Best time for photoshoot
Barat/ruksati: A room at the venue while people are eating
Walima: Before
One of my friends wanted to surprise her hubby, so he did not know what kind of dress she was wearing etc etc ... and after she made her entrance surprised him and got pictures taken etc etc and it was time to eat both dulha and dulhan went out and got their pictures taken, she choose a venue that had a green area behind it ... her pics are so gorgeous ...
Re: Best time for photoshoot
IMO photoshoots should be right after you get your makeup done, the advantage is that its fresh, no sweat or tissue has touched it yet, your groom will get to see you at your finest and yes before everyone else so its still a unique moment. Its just so much stress-free to have finished with the makeup and the photoshoot and then you can enjoy your wedding, go for food, and mingle with the guests, anything you want.
My friends have brought the entire family to the shoot ares before going for the event so that the studio pictures are taken care of beforehand.
One of my friends opted for the photoshoot after her valima, you could SEE the base sloughing off her face in close-ups, even though her makeup was done by Mariam Khwaja.
Its not the norm, but definitely go with it if you can, plus you can get gorgeous backgrounds except just boring "dulhan room" photos.
Re: Best time for photoshoot
For the baraat, I think slipping away whilst the guests are somewhat busy (eating) is a very wise option. Having the photoshoot before the bride’s entry kind of ruins the element of surprise for the groom. I think it’s nice for the groom to first see his new dulhan from the stage as she makes her entrance…will leave him jaw dropping! ![]()
Re: Best time for photoshoot
we had ours before and also during (suggested by the photographer)...we had 2 photographers, so one pulled out to shoot us... we chose vekphoto.com ...they were our best vendor...they fly everywhere.
Re: Best time for photoshoot
My sister (who got married last year)opted for the solo shoot on the barat day and couple shoot on the walima day. When she went to the professional studio on the barat day right after her make up was done, she told me that there were a lot of couples there for the couple shoot too.The bride and groom had come each on their own and left after the shoot,on their own as well.Because the groom does have to go back to his house and the bride to hers(or the wedding venue).
For the walima my sister got her make up done at the salon, her husband picked her up and they both went to the studio. After pictures, they went home and then after an hour or so left for the walima venue.
The best thing is to do the professional pix before the events. And actually it is not that hard to co ordinate..!
Re: Best time for photoshoot
i also wanted the ask the same question.
i think its good if we go for photoshoot before the event. charm is ALWAYS thr i just dont understand whats the point in giving surprize to the hubby. ultimately he is the one whom you will be spending your whole life and GUYS seriously dont care abt when they actually met their wives lol. for them wife is wife jitni jaldi dikh jaye acha hai :p
and i also dont like room shoot and then fake editing of backgrounds, would prefer something outside that can only be done before the event.
Re: Best time for photoshoot
ON-Location Shoots. Atleast i do on-location shoots for natural results.

Re: Best time for photoshoot
^ But everybody cant arrange their weddings in dreamy places like huge farmhouses/gardens what abt them? How do u manage their on-location shoots (in ordinary places)?
Re: Best time for photoshoot
it doesn't matter where your wedding has been arranged. Many brides also arrange their preferred dreamy places for photo-shoots prior to their functions ( like historical mosques, tombs and gardens ). Sometimes bride's functions are held in different halls and she prefer to do photo-shoots in some five star hotels. And for ordinary places, i sometimes take my brides or couples outside on suitable spots on the same locations ( during or after the events ) for photo-shoots. Its just up to the brides or couples how much they cooperate with photographers.

Re: Best time for photoshoot
^ Is it actually safe to conduct the photoshoot outside in open places with so much muggings and kidnappings going on? And with the amount of gold the bride would be wearing, wouldn't it be prudent to be discreet??

THIS q is something I've always had to deal with as a photographer. While it is a fact that there is kidnapping and robbing etc and in Pakistan there are no guarantees of anything/place/time. It is frustrating when clients want a certain look but don't want to co-operate in getting that look.
The guests are also decked up , maybe not as much as a bride but they do wear worked outfits and bling bling jewerly , so if they are safe coming and going to venues why not the bride? If a client isn't comfortable with it I never impose it on them because I wouldn't want to be liable God forbid something does happen.
On-location On-location On location!!!!
Re: Best time for photoshoot
If photographers starts thinking like this then they will kept themselves inside homes or their offices as they always carry such an expensive equipments right On Locations. So if we have to work professionally then we have behave professionally.

Re: Best time for photoshoot
Don't get me wrong, I'd love to get my shoot done at a historical place, it adds that something extra to the photos, I was just wondering if people are still opting for this. I guess it's all about guts and good luck.
